Since opening in 1993, The Oxfordshire’s course has become well-known as one of the leading golf venues in the UK. The quality of the course and the breathtaking scenery makes the course a delight to all who play here.

Being a former European Tour venue, having hosted the Benson & Hedges International for four years, the Andersen Consulting World Championship, as well as the Ladies English Open, you know you’re somewhere special.

World-renowned architect Rees Jones designed The Oxfordshire’s Championship course, which was his first in the UK/ He gave the course 135 bunkers and four lakes. With strategically-contoured holes that blend effortlessly into the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside, Jones’ masterpiece is a links-style course which is a challenge for golfers of any ability.

Each one of the 18 holes presents their own individual challenges. The signature hole is the 17th, named by Golf magazine as one of the top 500 holes in the world. This downhill par 5 is the thinking golfer’s dream, and the thoughtless golfer’s nightmare! Water and same carefully placed pot bunkers can make a par seem like a birdie.

Some of the games greats have teed it up here in competition, including Seve Ballesteros, Colin Montgomerie, Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer and Darren Clarke.

Our golf breaks are a wonderful opportunity to experience the unique championship Golf Course for yourself, before heading inside to enjoy our fantastic resort facilities.
