Now this is the way to get around the course – who would like to Roll With It?

A psychedelic golf buggy used by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher will be sold next week and the unusual piece of rock history could go for as much as £10,000.

Part of a 60-strong lot of Oasis and Gallagher memorabilia being auctioned by Propstore, including some of the songwriter’s signature guitars and handwritten lyrics, the custom-made buggy, manufactured by Club Car, was a gift from his then wife Meg Matthews in the 1990s.

Propstore say she commissioned it in the style of John Lennon’s Rolls Royce Phantom V, which the Beatle drove in the mid-1960s. Gallagher used the buggy to get around his former Chalfont St Giles home in Buckinghamshire.

Noel Gallagher golf buggy: What are the specs?

A typical Club Car buggy of the period, the petrol-powered cart has an aluminium frame, and a fibreglass and plastic body, along with a tinted windscreen and beige vinyl seats.

Oasis VIP stickers, including one for their famous gigs at Knebworth in 1996, adorn the windshield, while the ‘JEDI 1’ licence plate on the front and back references the 57-year-old’s love of Star Wars.

And though it’s likely to have never have seen a golf course, much of the paraphernalia you’d expect to see on a regular buggy remains in place – including the steering wheel scorecard holder and the ‘Practice Golf Etiquette’ plate on the dash.

Has Noel ever swung a club? Some Might Say, but at least he knew he had to “replace divots”, “repair ballmarks on greens”, and “help speed up play”.

It seems to have seen a bit of use too, with Propstore’s description of the golf buggy saying it has “some light marks on the seats, paint cracking on the back wheel arches, and general scuffing on the body”.

Online bids are open now with a reserve in place and a current starting price of £2,500. It’s estimated to sell for between £5,000 and £10,000.

It ends on November 15 with in person bidding getting under way that day from 3pm at BAFTA 195, in Piccadilly, London. Contact Propstore directly to save a seat.

Mark Hochman, a music and poster specialist at Propstore, said: “If you want a talking point for your mates down the golf club, this is a unique piece.

“Noel had this massive country estate in Chalfont St Giles and Meg bought him this golf buggy to run round it. The livery is taken from John Lennon’s Phantom V Rolls Royce, which they later used on stage.

“From handwritten lyrics to Noel’s Gibson Silver Sparkle guitar – the first he had commissioned to his exact specs – this is a great auction. It’s the biggest Oasis auction that’s ever happened.

“We’ve got over 60 items of unique memorabilia, from £100 to £200,000, which goes to show how collectable and how big the band has become. They’re up there with The Beatles in terms of memorabilia.”
