Prostate Cancer UK joins forces with NCG in nationwide collaboration

Prostate Cancer UK has joined forces with the NCG (National Club Golfer) Top 100s Tour in a new nationwide collaboration designed to raise vital funds and awareness to save men’s lives throughout the 2026 golf season.

Launching in March, the partnership will see Prostate Cancer UK integrated across the entire Top 100s Tour calendar and spotlight the growing impact of golf in raising awareness of prostate cancer – now the most common cancer in the UK. With fundraising activity and key health messaging present at every event, golfers taking part will be encouraged to play their role, while enjoying competitive golf at some of the UK’s finest venues.

A central element of the collaboration will be the introduction of a Prostate Cancer UK 36-hole Major, added to the Tour’s schedule. The Major taking place at Fulford Golf Club on Wednesday 2nd September, will provide golfers the opportunity to take on their own Big Golf Race challenge within a Tour event environment, combining competitive play with fundraising for a powerful cause.

Golfers entering the Prostate Cancer UK 36-hole Major will be encouraged to sign up to The Big Golf Race by creating an online fundraising page, allowing them to raise money for research projects aiming to transform the way prostate cancer is diagnosed and treated.

Prostate Cancer UK says the partnership represents a valuable opportunity to reach golfers directly with messages that could ultimately save men’s lives.

Seren Evans, Senior Head of Mass Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said: “Golfers have played a huge role in helping us fund lifesaving research through initiatives like The Big Golf Race, and this partnership with National Club Golfer supports highlighting prostate cancer risk and engaging more golfers to support the cause across the UK.

“Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men and is the only major cancer without a national screening programme. By working with the NCG Top 100s Tour, we can start important conversations about men’s health while raising funds that will help power research projects capable of changing and saving lives.”

The NCG Top 100s Tour is one of the UK’s most popular amateur golf series, providing everyday club golfers the chance to compete at Top 100-ranked courses nationwide. Spanning all corners of the UK, the Tour offers a professionally run, inclusive and competitive experience, attracting golfers of all abilities who share a passion for great courses and great competition.

“The NCG Top 100s Tour brings together thousands of passionate club golfers every year, and we’re proud to partner with Prostate Cancer UK to give those golfers the chance to make a real difference,” said Tom Irwin, Director of the NCG Top100s Tour.

“Adding a Prostate Cancer UK Major to the Tour calendar is a brilliant way to combine competitive golf with a cause that affects so many of our readers, their families and their friends. The collaboration is a natural fit with our audience and their values. We’re confident the Tour community will get fully behind the initiative,” he added.

Through this new collaboration, Prostate Cancer UK will be included in all marketing campaigns directed at golfers taking part in the NCG Top 100s Tour, including dedicated emailers, website banners, on course and off course branding at events, plus promotion through all of the publication’s social media platforms.

Also partnering with Prostate Cancer UK for 2026 is leading high-street retailer Charles Tyrwhitt, who will sponsor Prostate Cancer UK’s work across golf, including The Big Golf Race. Charles Tyrwhitt will be supporting Big Golf Racers to go the distance by offering participants 20% off store-wide, including their performance range, and entering their own Big Golf Race team.

Matthew has been playing golf since he was around 13 and took up the game at a local nine-hole municipal course with his friends before joining Pontefract & District Golf Club just over the hedge.

Still a member of Pontefract with a handicap of 3, he currently sits on the board of directors to help with digital and marketing initiatives in order to improve membership and visitor income.

Matthew graduated university with a First Class in Sports Journalism from Leeds Trinity University and has been working in the golf industry since graduating.

Not one to change his equipment too often, Matthew currently plays the TaylorMade M2 driver which has lasted the test of time in his bag. Elsewhere, you’ll find him using the TaylorMade Stealth 2 three-wood with a Ping G425 Crossover 2-iron to aid his long game.

Through his 4-iron to Gap Wedge, Matthew uses the Ping i500 irons accompanied by Ping’s Glide 3.0 56-degree and 60-degree wedges.

Another club that has stood the test of time in his bag is a Nike Method Core MC-3i putter which has had to have the SuperStroke grip changed at least three times. Ball of choice is the Titleist ProV1.
