Rory McIlroy’s Masters victory was the most watched final round since 2018. With that comes growing interest in what golf equipment he uses. Here we take a look at TaylorMade at The Masters 2025 – who supply Rory as well as other top golfers.
Rory McIlroy’s decision to sign with TaylorMade in 2017 marked a transition in his equipment choices, as he moved away from Nike for clubs and balls while continuing to wear Nike apparel and shoes. This partnership undoubtedly elevated TaylorMade’s visibility in the golf industry. However, with Rory’s recent victory at The Masters and his achievement of the career Grand Slam, interest has surged not only in his performance but also in the TaylorMade brand itself. TaylorMade at The Masters 2025 showcased products across numerous top golfers, not just Rory McIlroy, and this article with highlight some of our top picks.
We will take a look at what Rory was gaming at The Masters but also other TaylorMade players as it is not always the case that they all play the same models. In some cases, including Rory, the models they go for are not necessarily the new ones. This means that you might be able to get some great deals on the very clubs your golfing idols play! Let’s dive straight in and take a look at TaylorMade at The Masters 2025…
Driver: TaylorMade Qi10 “Dot” (9 degrees @8.25, D4) – Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Black 6 X (45 inches, tipped 1 inch)
Rory has stuck with the trusted Qi10 driver and has not switched to the 2025 Qi35 model. Though his exact driver is not available to mere mortals the Qi10 driver is now available at fantastic reduced prices (see below) due to it being an older model. You can also read the full NCG review of the Qi10 here.
Irons: TaylorMade P760 (4), TaylorMade Rors Proto (5-9) – Shaft: Project X 7.0 (4-9)
Not unsurprisingly the Rors Proto irons are not available to the public as they are dialled in to specifically suit Rory’s game. The P760s are also not easy to get hold of but can purchased at places like golfbidder in the UK and Amazon in the US (see buying options below).
Putter: TaylorMade Spider Tour X – Grip: SuperStroke Zenergy Pistol Tour
Rory now seems settled with his Spider Tour X putter. Putters often get a big boost in interest after a major win and am sure this will be the case for the Spider Tour X. Read the full NCG review here.
Rory switched to the TaylorMade TP5 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2025.
As he stated himself “”I sort of stumbled upon (TP5),” McIlroy said. “I just started to hit some chip shots with the TP5 instead of the TP5x and I really loved how it felt. I hadn’t really tested the 2024 TP5 and I loved how it was reacting around the green. Then I started hitting some 60, 70-yard shots with and it was coming off much lower launch but spinnier.”
Read more here for more info on this switch and how the TP5 ultimately has become more compatible with his MG4 wedges.
And for 1 lucky reader we are giving away 6 dozen TaylorMade TP5 golf balls in celebration of Rory becoming the 6th person to achieve the career grand slam. Enter here.
TaylorMade at The Masters 2025: Spider Tour X Putter
Further to Rory recommending the putter, Scottie Scheffler also chooses the TaylorMade Spider Tour X putter. Though he had a somewhat indifferent week he will no doubt take heart that he only finished 3 shots back from Rory and Justin Rose.
With the two best players in the world gaming this putter it will be interesting to see if they appear more on Tour and across golf courses all over the world!
It is not just the putter Scottie games from TaylorMade – he also opts for the Qi10 driver and fairway woods. He has also been seen with the new Qi35 but only for the 7 wood. Before he gets to the putter he also has the P-7TW irons (5-PW) in the bag.
Even though Rory chooses not to game the new Qi35 driver TaylorMade staffers like Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood do. The NCG review team loved what the Qi35 delivers and is proving popular with amateur golfers.
Interestingly Collin, like Rory, opts for the Qi10 5 wood, MG4 wedges and TP5 golf ball.
Together with the 7 wood the mini driver seems to be proving more and more popular on Tour. Tommy Fleetwood is currently gaming the BRNR Mini Driver but how long before he, and others, put the recently released R7 Quad Mini Driver in the bag?
TaylorMade at The Masters 2025: Limited Edition items
TaylorMade always release a great line up of limited edition merchandise for The Masters. 2025 is no different and with it now being a historic tournament it will no doubt be very popular – if not already sold out!
The line up this year includes TP5 golf balls, wood and putter covers and a tour bag.
TaylorMade, courtesy of Rory gaming their clubs and ball, are receiving extra interest from golfers worldwide. No doubt golfers will be keen to try out the TP5 golf ball, MG4 wedges and Spider putter to see if that helps them with their ball control!
It will be interesting to see if there is a resurgence in the interest in the Qi10 clubs – especially as they are now available at discounted prices.
For those who like to keep memorabilia it is always a good time to pocket something that is attached to a historic sporting moment. The 2025 Masters is undoubtedly that as Rory finally won his first Masters and so the historic grand slam of golf.
Hats off to TaylorMade for producing the winning driver, irons, putter and golf ball at the Masters 2025 – cementing their place in golfing history!
