The new Chase Dry from Callaway is a fully waterproof carry bag, with waterproof zips and 3k waterproof fabric.
Most waterproof bags I’ve previously tried have been pretty heavy to carry whereas the chase dry is just less than 2kg, so just felt like a normal carry bag weight.
The straps had plenty of padding, which was great. There is also a four way top and seven storage pockets!
If you’re considering an upgrade to your carry bag, the Callaway Hyperlite Zero is a solid choice.
It offers a sleek design, exceptional comfort, and a lightweight build that makes it easy to transport.
With ample storage space, it effectively meets the demands of any golfer on and off the course – it will certainly get some use from myself in the season ahead.

The Cobra Ultradry Pro is a lightweight, stylish carry bag that offers excellent comfort and practicality, even in winter conditions.
Its 5-way top, waterproof pockets, and versatile design—fitting both carry and trolley use—make it a reliable choice for golfers seeking convenience and protection.
Overall, it impressed with its comfort, stability, and thoughtful features, making it a standout option for those looking for a functional and stylish golf bag.
The TaylorMade FlexTech Waterprrof bag is a pretty substantial stand bag which is suitable for year-round use as it is roomy and will sit happily on a trolley or buggy.
The good-looking fabric is durable and waterproof. There is lots of storage with no less than five roomy and waterproof pockets.
To summarise, this is an excellent all-weather and all round bag. It’s well constructed and looks good. The pockets all do a decent job. As a carry bag it is slightly bulkier than I’d ideally like, but that size means it performs well on a trolley or indeed a cart.
This is a genuinely lightweight and comfortable carry bag that can carry 14 clubs and offers reasonable pocket space. It is an ideal Summer bag.
In short, this bag is a super lightweight and compact carry bag, which is ideal for fine weather golf. If you need something that will withstand miserable winter weather then this isn’t for you, and you might want to check out the TaylorMade FlexTech Waterproof Stand Bag (review above this one).
PROS
A genuinely lightweight bag.
Reasonable pocket configuration.
Strong choice of colours.
CONS
Not really a year round option for those who have to battle with changing weather.
This is an interesting concept and is well designed. It certainly is just about all the bag you’ll ever need – if you just require 1 bag that you can carry and put on a trolley then this is a fantastic option.
If you are in the market for a single bag to use all year round , and at the driving range, then this may well be the ideal bag for you. It certainly offers flexible use and has a great pocket configuration.

This is a really handsome, comfortable carry bag which is well-designed, practical and comes in at a tremendous price point.
I think this is a first-class carry bag that has just about everything you need and expect from a premium manufacturer. It’s extremely good looking and performs well on the course. The only downside is that it is a little on the heavy side but when you consider that it comes in at £100 (or more) cheaper than similarly constructed bags from competitors, then I think it’s an absolute winner.
If you’re looking for a new lightweight stand bag, then the search can end here. It has lots of pocket space and a comfortable dual strap, making it easy to carry around the course. I can tell that it is lighter than a full-size Hoofer but it feels just as tough. It’s a great buy.
My advice for all those who carry is to get themselves kitted out with a Ping Hoofer Lite and have total confidence that it will be a long-term investment in your golf game.

Surprisingly capacious
CONS
I do like a secure, soft valuables pouch
RRP: £200 / $245

If you are looking for a small carry bag with a stand, it is hard not to recommend this bag.
It is very compact but with enough storage to carry some extra clothing and all the paraphernalia necessary should the weather take a turn for the worse.
It has a quality feel to it and the pockets have been well designed. This is not simply a small bag with a couple of pockets thrown on for good measure.
I really like a small carry bag and for me this is the perfect “go-to” summer carry bag – one which I will be using a lot over the summer!
PROS

Good storage for a small bag
Can carry a full set
CONS

RRP: £149 / $219
Colours: White/Mr Ping, Black, Navy/Green (other colours available in USA)
A great stand bag option. It’s light, easy to carry and still fits in the majority of your golf gear. Although their isn’t a long designated pocket for a jacket or jumper.
The design follows in its name, minimal, but its refreshing that way. It has a professional nature to it, without being too overpowering.
Having magnetic pockets was a nice change. They were less of an annoyance to operate than zip pockets.
Overall, the bag was great. I loved how lightweight and comfortable it was to carry, so much so that I played 27 holes testing it out, and it didn’t make me feel any more fatigued. The design was right up my street, and the sleek look is exactly what I look for in a golf bag.

For those of us who live in a typically wet place, other colours are available and may be suitable be more suitable to stop a quick wear look. This is a near enough an ideal option for a carry bag, if only it had that apparel pocket it would be perfect, in my opinion.
A light but fully featured stand bag. It is 100% waterproof and looks great. Its hidden stand system lets the bag sit easily on a trolley making it very versatile.
This is a great stand/carry bag. The fact that it also functions well as a trolley bag is a huge bonus. It is 100% waterproof and has loads of pockets and features.
There is nothing really to fault in this bag. It is going to become my summer golf bag.

This is a capacious, full-featured bag. It is large enough to deal with most golfing requirements and, if not too fully laden, a very comfortable carry bag.
The Big Max Dry Lite Hybrid by virtue of its size and weight can genuinely be used summer and winter, on a trolley or carried and as such may be the only bag you need.
PROS

Attractive looks
Good storage
Well-priced for the features
Performs well as both carry and cart bag
CONS
An inevitable compromise between being a carry bag and a cart bag.
RRP: £229.99 / $249
Colours: White-navy-red, White-merlot, Royal-sky blue, Lime-silver, Grey-black, Black-storm charcoal-lime, Black
This is a really great all round bag which is small enough to carry but also works really well on a trolley.
It has a really smart, sharp appearance to it and the premium look is matched with a premium build.
Despite the sleek shape and sizing there is a serious amount of storage packed into this bag including some really neat magnetic pockets.
Overall, I loved testing this bag out. It is so versatile that it is a perfect option for people who move between carrying and using a trolley. It is also one of the only smaller carry bags that I feel has enough storage to use full time. This will definitely be in my bag rotation this year.
Exceptional in all weather, it’s light as a feather, can handle a full set of clubs, and deals admirably with a shower. If you’re looking to keep things compact, you just can’t go wrong.
What’s the lowdown? The MacGregor Principal is excellent in nearly every way. At around £80, you’re getting nearly all the benefits from a much larger, and much more expensive, stand bag but in a far more convenient chassis.
If reducing the size and weight you’re carrying on the course is your primary purpose, this is the perfect solution. There aren’t many trade-offs, and you can still test the limit with a full set-up without compromising the product, or breaking your back at the same time.
This is surely the model that all ultra-lightweight stand bags should follow. This MacGregor golf bag is definitely a winner.
PROS
Probably the lightest bag I have ever carried
Dual-strap system is extremely comfortable
Plenty of space for balls and clothing despite compact size
I do like the hybrid concept, but it’s a tough one to pull off. The EliteFLEX is as good as anything in this category, so is worthy of serious consideration.
Although this bag is substantially heavier than my normal carry bag, the two adjustable shoulder straps are nicely padded and contoured which allowed me to obtain an extremely comfortable and balanced carry. In fact, in terms of comfort and balance, I have not tested anything better.
The new Saturday Stand Bag from Cleveland golf is a great hybrid carry bag. With 6 different zipped pockets for storage and a 14 way divider top, it’s a great option for any golfer who wants plenty of space with the flexibility of carrying or trolleying.
It weighs 2.6kg, so it isn’t overly heavy and a firm plastic handle on the front makes getting it in and out of a car or on a trolley easy.
The straps had plenty of padding, which was great to carry.
The new Srixon Premium Golf Stand Bag is a great standard size carry bag. With 8 different pockets for storage and a 6 way divider top, it’s a great option for any golfer who doesn’t want to stomp on size.
With that said, it only weighs 2.6kg, and can be carried or easily strapped to a trolley.
The straps had plenty of padding, which was great to carry.
The sleek and stylish design of the Titleist Players 4 Carbon Golf stand bag is only bettered by its practicality. There is a load of storage, especially for a stand bag, for all your essentials and more.

The Titleist Premium Carry Bag really is the gold standard in ‘Sunday’ offerings.
Ludicrously light, and maintaining the extremely comfortable double shoulder strap system, the integrated mini-legs have taken this product to a new level.
Five pockets and the sort of three-way top cuff you’d expect to see on a much larger stand bag mean space for your clubs and essentials is never an issue.
It’s quite amazing how much Titleist have managed to pack into something so compact. If you like to carry, this could well become your go-to bag.
PROS
Ridiculously light – at under 3lbs – but doesn’t skimp on features.
Mini-manual legs, and so the ability to half stand this bag up, is a game-changer for this product.
Three-way cuff means you won’t be trying to jam your clubs into a tight space. You can easily get a full set in here.
Five pockets, including a full-length apparel pocket, will allow you to pack all your essentials.
CONS
Premium price may be off-putting to some potential customers.
This is once again a quality bag produced by Sun Mountain. It provides the golfer with ample room to fit clubs, food, drinks and accessories.
The outstanding feature of the bag the construction and it should last a decent amount of time. This means this bag is more of a mid to long term investment than buying cheap and ending up buying twice!
The bag’s waterproof aspect is nothing new for the Sun Mountain range and, as ever, provides great protection against the elements.
The pocket configuration is different to previous versions and does not really offer any improvement.
However, if you are looking for a durable, quality, waterproof stand bag then this Sun Mountain 2024 bag is definitely worth a look.
This is a smart, compact, good looking and extremely comfortable waterproof carry bag that occupies a unique place in the market.
In summary, I think we have a unique offering from Callaway; namely a double-strap compact (or pencil) bag made from a classy and durable waterproof fabric. It performs well on the course and is already very much part of my golf bag stable. It comes highly recommended.
This Sun Mountain Sunday bag is the ideal option for golfers looking to upgrade their pencil bag. Somehow Sun Mountain have managed to shave off any unnecessary weight to get it down to a minuscule 2lbs which is amazing for players who likes to whip their bag out of the car and round 9 holes in under 90 minutes.
The weight savings do not, however, mean that this bag is uncomfortable; Sun Mountain have included super thick padding in the shoulder straps and on the back pad to make using it an all-round pleasurable experience.
PROS
Super light – only 2lbs
Very comfortable straps and back pads
Plenty of room for a full set
Adequate pocket space for a bag this size
CONS
Premium price point may be off-putting to some potential customers.
