The Powakaddy FW7s GPS is their first model with fully-integrated GPS technology.

It means golfers can get accurate yardage information from the screen on their trolley without connecting to any additional GPS device.

The recently released Motocaddy S5 Connect syncs with an app on your phone and yardages are sent to the screen via bluetooth.

So this summer there looks set to be a battle of the GPS trolleys from the two market leaders.

We’ll be testing them both out in the coming weeks and will deliver our verdicts on the pros and cons of each model.

Maybe we should put them head-to-head in a Robot Wars-style battle… Maybe not.

Anyway, the FW7s GPS trolley has all the performance benefits of the popular FW7s model but it also provides distances to the front, middle and back of the green at over 30,000 golf courses worldwide.

It also has a range of features you might expect from a GPS watch or handheld device such as hazard information, distance tracking and electronic scorecard.

There are no annual fees, subscriptions or additional downloads required.

The built-in digital scorecard it also saves every round to build a performance history for the owner.

“A serious amount of time, effort and investment has gone into the production of the FW7s GPS to make sure it performs to the very highest of standards,” said Powakaddy marketing manager Mei Tierney.

“It has all the features of our award-winning Freeway range, while the fully-integrated, high-performance GPS delivers much more than just distances to the pin.”

The trolley also boasts a 3.5in widescreen display which incorporates a calorie counter and a USB charging port for golfers to charge their smart phone during the round.
