NCG SUMMARY

The TaylorMade Qi35 Max Hybrid is one of the most forgiving and playable hybrids currently available. It combines modern technology, high launch, and a touch of draw bias to produce consistent, confidence-building results. Although its high flight may not suit every player off the tee, it excels from the fairway and rough, making it a fantastic all-round option. This is a hybrid that will appeal to a wide range of golfers, from higher handicappers to better players seeking extra forgiveness.

First Impressions

At address, I thought it was noticeable that the Qi35 Max has a larger profile than its Tour counterpart. While some players may prefer a more compact head, the bigger shape gives plenty of confidence behind the ball. Interestingly, despite its size, the Max sits well at address and doesn’t feel cumbersome. Although I do think for many, it may prove to be the more attractive option compared to the smaller Tour model.

NCG Review

As far as on course performance went I thought the TaylorMade Qi35 Max hybrid performed exceptionally from a variety of different lies. From the fairway and semi-rough, the Qi35 Max proved easy to hit and versatile.

Off the tee, it does launch a touch high to be optimal for some players, but it worked superbly for me trying to advance the ball down long par fives or finding fairways on shorter holes. It was also reliable out of the rough, with plenty of launch and forgiveness. The draw bias will help many golfers who struggle with a right miss.

My testing showed that the Qi35 Max Hybrid also delivers impressive results as well as a quality feeling golf club. Using a 20-degree head, equivalent to a three hybrid, I thought the numbers were very solid.

My ball speed averaged 139 mph with spin around 4000 rpm, and the club produced a carry distance of 215 yards with a total of 230 yards. The peak height was around 100 feet, which is ideal for players trying to hold greens from their approach shots.

Overall, I really believe the TaylorMade Qi35 Max Hybrid is a highly playable, confidence-inspiring option that blends distance, forgiveness, and stopping power. It’s not just for higher handicappers either, I do think better players might find the larger head shape and launch characteristics surprisingly effective.
