These were everything you want a pair of golf boots to be. The waterproofing was excellent and handled the wet fairways and rough with ease.

Comfort is always king for me when it comes to golf footwear and these certainly fit that bill.

I also really liked how stable I felt swinging on wet ground. Throughout testing I felt they felt sturdy and secure.

Adidas S2G Rain.RDY Golf Shoe Boot Review: First Impressions

Straight out of the box, these golf boots intrigued me. Adidas have designed the boots to have a classic high-top basketball shoe inspired look.

I personally loved the styling. They had a sporty appearance to them whilst remaining classy, and I think the subtle black and red colour scheming helped. Visually, they are a boot that can be worn by both male and female golfers, with sizes available to accommodate both.

When initially trying them on, I was pleased to find that they were extremely comfortable right out the box. They took a bit of getting use to, but there was no real period needed to help break them in which you may get with other golf boots.

On Course Testing

I have to say the performance benefits of these Adidas S2G Rain.RDY golf shoe boots were a big surprise to me. I’ve never been a one to go for golf boots in the past but these have certainly showed me how useful they are to have when the rain starts to fall and the ground gets that much wetter.

They do feel quite big when you put them on at first, there’s no debating that, but they aren’t as clunky as I thought they were going to be. I think the sporty design helps to be able to adjust to them quicker than other golf boots.

It was a typical autumnal day when I tested these boots on the golf course, where the ground was noticeable wet and muddy. It was the type of day that I’d usually dread wearing normal golf shoes and would need to bring a spare pair of socks. But, there was no need for concern wearing these golf boots.

The RAIN.RDY waterproofing worked flawlessly. I had no issues with wet feet and the waterproof leather upper with lace closure meant that during my unfortunately frequent visits to the longer grass there were still no vulnerabilities to the elements.

Stability was another huge plus. The Lightstrike technology midsole and Adiwear rubber outsole worked well in delivering superior traction on the greens. They also kept me upright whilst swinging from the fairway, rough and tee box.

For comfort, the LIGHTSTRIKE cushioning worked wonders. 18 holes felt like a breeze and I wasn’t itching to take the off by the end to give my feet a chance to breathe, which is what you can find with other golf boots/shoes.

19th Hole

I will 100% be using these golf boots this winter. In terms of my golfing attire I often take a casual approach which is also reflected in the footwear I use, having a tendency to wear trainer-like golf shoes. Due to this I’m often left having to deploy damage control to stop them from being wrecked.

The dependability of these Adidas golf boots means that I won’t have to worry about the wet and muddy ground when playing golf this winter.

A downside with these boots is that they are quite specialised and aren’t suitable off-course as other golf shoes. Having said that would be great for outdoor walking – with or without a dog.

Also, although you can wear them during summer, I personally wouldn’t with their heavy nature.

Overall, these are perfect for playing golf during winter especially and are a great option to keep your feet dry and warm as the weather continues to take a turn for the worse.

I would recommend these to anyone looking for a pair of golf boots. I’ll certainly be putting them to good use this winter.
