The Redtiger standard model golf rangefinder got 5 out of 5 – how does the mini model measure up? Let’s take a look…

As stated in my review of the standard Redtiger golf rangefinder, if you read Redtiger’s Mission and Vision you might think they only operate in the car industry – serving 1 million plus customers in over 70 countries. They have now ventured in the golf industry offering up a selection of golf rangefinders that , consistent with their mission and vision, will look to provide golfers with a reliable, innovative rangefinder that will offer all a golfer would need on the golf course. I was fortunate to get my hands on the Redtiger’s mini golf rangefinder offering and was intrigued to put it to the test – especially as I was very impressed with the standard model.

NCG SUMMARY

The Redtiger mini golf rangefinder is a compact, user-friendly rangefinder with impressive clarity and accurate distances, making it a great choice for golfers seeking portability.

However, its small size and slippery surface may pose handling challenges, especially for those with larger hands.

  • Impressive clarity
  • Compact design
  • User friendly

CONS

  • Probably too small for those with larger hands – if this is you, definitely look at the standard Redtiger model

First Impressions

Redtiger are back but this time with their offering of a mini golf rangefinder. When getting this product out of the box, the first thing that hits you is the size of it. The rangefinder is significantly smaller than other products on the market. It has a sleek, attractive design but feels a little slippy in your hand.

On-course testing

As with other Redtiger models, the mini model is very user friendly and easy to navigate. It comes with a quality carry case that fits easily on your bag but can also be attached to your belt with a magnetic clip.

Redtiger Mini Golf Rangefinder review

Once fully charged via the USB cable you are all set to hit the course. The clarity of the lense is impressive and can be easily adjusted for your eyesight. It’s magnified lense locks on to the target quickly and gives a satisfying buzz to confirm the distance. The distances are very accurate and leave you confident in club selection.

The small and slippy surface makes it slightly tricky to handle and it would benefit from some rubberised sides to enhance the stability. Its size probably make it more suitable for golfers with smaller hands but you can’t help but be impressed with the design and its compactness.

A mode button helps you to scroll through options and a separate Slope Assistance button enable you to turn slope assistance on and off with ease. When operating slope assistance, a bright light appears on the side of the device, so don’t try and use it during competitions!!

NCG Final Verdict

The compact nature of the mini model will appeal to plenty but I found it a little too small for my hands, especially as it is not easy to grip.

Despite that, it performs really well and is incredibly easy to use. As with other Redtiger products, the price point is very attractive and the various mounting options make it a good choice for those looking for a small and effective device.
