CONS
As someone with on-going back issues, carry bags are not my number one choice but they certainly have their place, especially in winter conditions.
The Cobra Ultradry Pro stand bag is great looking bag, the grey model (they do it in Navy too) with the green detailing certainly makes an impression. It is incredibly light and forms a solid base when the legs are extended.
With my clubs transferred and my equipment in the pockets I was ready to go. The 5-way top design caters for all your clubs comfortably and leaves plenty of room to get them in and out of the bag. Even with a full set of clubs, accessories and waterproofs, the bag still felt light. The adjustable shoulder straps are well cushioned and allow the bag to rest comfortably across. The additional cushioning against your back makes it very comfortable to carry.
The six waterproof pockets provide ample storage for everything you need on the course and all the pockets are very accessible. The zips are very well designed and fell sturdy, whilst keeping the contents of your bag dry. If the weather takes a turn for the worse, there is a rain hood that is stored neatly in it own internal pocket.
The bag is easy to remove from your back and when you place it on the ground, the legs extend to provide a solid base, even on uneven ground. As you pick the bag up after your shot the legs snap back into place to recreate the sleek look.
A great feature of the bag is that it is designed to fit neatly on to a trolley if you require, making it a great option for those golfers that would like the flexibility of both a carry bag and cart bag. The cart pass-thru feature menas the bag sits securely on your trolley and the legs are simply locked in place with a retaining strap.
NCG Verdict
I was really impressed with the Cobra Ultradry Pro stand bag. It is lightweight, flexible and looks great. I finished the round with no backache as it sits very comfortably across your back and it gives you the freedom of the course when trolleys begin having restrictions in the wintery conditions.
With well designed pockets and fully waterproof it ticks all the boxes.
