This family of wedges is packed with updates built to satisfy the demands of elite players like Collin Morikawa and Tiger Woods, while still delivering playable forgiveness for the everyday golfer.

Let’s take a closer look at the technology, line-up, and all the details that matter. Here’s what you need to know before putting them in play…

TaylorMade MG5 Wedges: The Technology

The MG5 wedges are fully forged from a billet of soft carbon steel, which is a first for the Milled Grind series. TaylorMade’s forging process includes heating and bending the steel into an L-shape, rough and precision forging, CNC-machining of the grind, face, grooves, and hosel, and finishing with cosmetic detailing.

New to the MG family, the saw-milled grooves have steeper walls that push right up against the legal limits of groove geometry. These are engineered to deliver maximum spin, especially on shorter shots, allowing players more control when chipping around or hitting into the greens.

Continuing TaylorMade’s commitment to wet-weather performance, the MG5 wedges employ the brand’s familiar RAW face finish paired with an all-new Spin Tread Technology. These spin treads channel water away from the face, much like all-season tyres do on your car. They in turn deliver 13% more spin in wet conditions compared to the previous wedge, the MG4.

TaylorMade MG5 SB Grind
