The #1 Shoe in Golf is back with a new design!

FootJoy are widely respected as the big dog when it comes to golf shoes and now they have a new offering ahead of the new season. A new year sees the introduction of the all-new FJ Fuel golf shoe which has be redesigned to offer golfers a comfort packed and lightweight option.

One only has to turn to the pro ranks to see the impact the old design had on the game. Both male and female professional golfers used this shoe on the global tours with the model securing six victories across the 2023/24 season.

This makes the FJ Fuel the second most successful FootJoy golf shoe behind the well know Premiere Series.

Lightweight performance has been improved from the previous generation as it weight 10% less. A geometrically optimised EVA cushioning system helps to deliver platform. To help with grip a Pro/SLX inspired racetrack outsole design is utilised and a new full-width, PowerClip harnesses lateral movement adds to the stability of the shoe.

A stylish, modern design rounds off an intriguing new golf shoe option.

    RRP:

    • Men’s FJ Fuel – £140.00
    • Women’s FJ Fuel – £130.00
    • Junior’s FJ Fuel – £70.00

    Sun Mountain Announce New Products

The highly regarded golf bag brand are set to launch new series of bags and apparel in Orlando at the PGA Show this month. A series of stand bags and a luxury range of vinyl bags are to be made available as golfers gear up for the start of the new season in the Spring.

For those attending the event, the feature-packed E-2.5, E-3.5 and E-3.5 14-way styles will all be on show in Sun Mountain’s booth. These are from the Eclipse E-Series which pays homage to the brand’s pioneering Eclipse carry bag from 1986 which was the first bag to feature built-in stand legs.

Golf bags on the whole are fairly luxurious commodities now, but Sun Mountain have released a line of durable bags and holdalls, known as the Matchplay Collection, which they believe are the ultimate luxury. Designed to provide an all-round package for golfers these new cart bags, 4-way and 14-way stand bags, a Sunday bag and matching Duffel.

In addition to golf bags, a new line of golf clothing to help combat the unpredictable weather winter throws up. There are 15 styles of men’s wear and 12 women’s pieces of rainwear that Sun Mountain say feature great breathability, insulation and sun protection. Clothing that can be used all-year round.

Two VENTIL8™ PLUS polo shirts offer striking designs for those golfers who are happy to take a risk with the attire. A sturdy fabric are used in the designing of the trousers and, although it may seem a bit optimistic now, a pair of short.

    Fujikura honours first responders

One of the leading brands in golf club shafts, Fujikura, have released a 2024 Ventus Patriot shaft in commemoration of over a decade of partnership the brand and Folds of honour. The latter is a nonprofit organisation that helps provide the families and of fallen and disabled service members and first responders with scholarships.

Additionally, Duca say the Castello boot is ideal for those golfers who desire an extremely warm design that can combat the most harsh winter conditions. It’s a modern design that is available in black.

Elsewhere in the men’s collection, the Bernado, Bologna and Fontana shoe are all suitable for winter golf.

Spearheading the women’s collection is the Algarve boot which is the ideal winter boot for all ground conditions, rain, snow or ice. This waterproof boot provides top performance at all times.

The women’s collection also includes the Francesca, Lorenza, Toscana and Sabrina boot for a variety of winter footwear options.

25 years of Golf’s most iconic ball

Since the turn of the century, Titleist’s number one golf ball has been one of the industry’s leading golf balls. The Pro V1 made its PGA TOUR debut in October, 2000 in Sin City at the Invensys Classic.

That week’s champion, Billy Andrade, had the Pro V1 in play along with 46 other players.

History will repeat itself this week as Las Vegas will again introduce the new 2025 Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls on the PGA TOUR, which will mark the 25th year for one of the game’s most popular balls. Every Titleist range ball will be a 2025 Pro V1 or Pro V1x model.

The official birthday of the Titleist Pro V1 isn’t until next year, but the latest version will be rolled out at TPC Summerlin after being trial and tested on the PGA TOUR. Three tour players have already made the switch, Lee Hodges, Hayden Springer and Zac Blair, beginning the fall season with some new equipment.

“The Pro V1 responded to the changing nature of the game,” said Mary Lou Bohn, President, Titleist Golf Balls.

“The arrival of the power game on the tour necessitated golf balls that delivered very low spin in the long game, while maintaining the spin, feel and control of the premium liquid center, wound technology golf balls.

“We walked the fairways with players during their practice rounds, and it was amazing to hear so many great players effusive over Pro V1’s performance. If you look at the early success of players who achieved record-setting performances, the results spoke for themselves.”

TaylorMade and Oracle Red Bull Racing release new collection

Golf and Formula one share more similarities than you may initially think. From rolex sponsorship to the lavish nature of the professional ranks.

The two sporting worlds have collided yet again after the golf brand announced a collaboration with Red Bull Racing. It’s the second time the pair have collaborated releasing The Pursuit Collection.

As you can imagine with a Formula One partnership, speed is a big theme throughout the aesthetics of these P-790 irons. The club head features a checkered racing flag on the backbar, the heads are finished in the Red Bull team blue and feature the co-branded logos of both brands. To complete the F1 team’s colour scheme, the 38g tungsten toe is painted red.

Elsewhere, the complete collection also includes an Oracle Red Bull Racing MG4 bundle which features a 56° and a 60° wedge. They boast the same aesthetic appearance as the P-790 irons.

Additionally, the wedges use a black and red Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 stiff flex shaft, again repping the racing team’s colours.

From a technological standpoint, TaylorMade say the irons have a higher launch capability in the longer sticks as the CG is lower in the club head. The brand also believe that accuracy and ball speed can be maintained across the club face through advanced internal shaping.

Sound is a big part of the appeal of fast cars, F1 rocket ships are no different. TaylorMade have engineered the same concentration to the irons. The P-790s are designed with hollow construction and an all- new stabilisation bar.

Laser etched Spin Tread technology is incorporated in the faces of the wedges to increase friction with the ball at impact. TaylorMade say this helps retain both spin and control.

There is also no shortage of apparel available. A wide array of

T-shirts in navy, white and black all celebrate the Pursuit Collection with co-branded logos,race-themed designs, and premium material construction.

It’s a good day if you’re a fan of Red Bull Racing.

    Golf Street Wear

A shift to more modern style clothing has swept the golf industry over the last few, especially for younger or more casual golfers. They often prefer to wear clothes that wouldn’t look out of place off a course.

Galvin Green have responded to this change in the golf apparel scene by introducing a new clothing line aimed at blending the lines between golf wear and street wear.

Their new line-up has been dubbed the Concept sub collection. This collection consists of 14 items, from waterproof jackets to beanie hats.

For those wet weather golfers, an 100% waterproof Argus full-zip hooded jacket and matching Adrian trouser are amongst the rainwear pieces. Galvin green say they offer great freedom of movement through uncompromising stretch from the fabric.

As part of the new winter collection, the Luke Interface-1 windproof half-zip jacket is ideal for those looking for a golf jacket that doesn’t look out of place in a casual setting.\

In terms of mid layers, Galvin Green have released two jumpers. The Diaz half-zip jumper has been aesthetically inspired by the splash of sand from a bunker. There is also a Dante crewneck available in a solid Duck Green, Orange and Black colour options.

Duca Del Cosma release winter boots

After the recent snowy weather across parts of the UK, I don’t think there is a more appropriate time to introduction new golf boots and shoes. The Italian golf fashion brand has added some new releases to their ‘Cool Season’ collection as golfers prepare to battle the winter months.

This latest boot line-up is waterproof and offers two new lightweight designs, as well as some of the best selling models available in winter colours.

The marquee shoe for the men’s collection is the Castello boot and headlining the women’s line-up is the Algarve boot. These designs deliver superior grip and stability for those wet and icy winter rounds in a more lightweight boot to prevent golfers feeling restricted when swinging.

There are loads of great new products from some of the biggest brands in the game for 2024 perhaps the most notable being the new driver line-up, including three 10k drivers.

    Drivers

    Callaway Drivers 2024

Paradym was extremely successful for Callaway in 2023, so this year they have kept the name but added a new twist. The new Paradym Ai Smoke range features four models, the Triple Diamond, Max, Max D and Max Fast.

Artificial intelligence is one of Callaway’s superpowers when designing new equipment. It has brought us technologies such as Jailbreak, Flash Cup Face, and Ai-Optimised Club Faces. For 2024, Callaway has combined this with in-person player testing to drive the design of their latest drivers.

This year the all-new Ai Smart Face is the big Ai story. It uses swing dynamics data from thousands of real golfers to make the supercomputer Ai technology even more accurate. Swing speed, club delivery and face orientation just before impact have been fed into the computer to give it more information on how golfers present the golf club at impact and how the driver needs to perform to boost the performance of real golfers.

    TaylorMade Drivers 2024

The most forgiving family of drivers ever? TaylorMade claims to have unlocked a new frontier of forgiveness in their Qi10 lineup, so what’s new?

And what about the name? Qi stands for the Quest for Inertia, or to put it in a more understandable way, the quest to produce the best balance of speed and forgiveness. The Max model even toppled the 10,000 MOI mark for the first time in driver history.

    Cobra Drivers 2024

For 2024, Cobra is introducing three drivers as part of their new Darkspeed Metalwoods range. The Darkspeed family uses advanced aerodynamic shaping, meaning that every driver’s head has a different weight configuration designed to suit individual players’ requirements.

The Darkspeed range is Cobra’s first product to use AI technology. The Ai-designed H.O.T Face Technology has been used to create a face that has both optimised smash factor and ball speed data. From this, the reformed Pwrshell face insert is now 13% larger than the one found in the previous generation Aerojet drivers.

Not only has the face been upgraded, but so has the overall structure of the driver’s head. A multi-material chassis features a lightweight carbon crown, which is 30% thinner than the Aerojet driver. This lighter top is combined with sole plates and a reinforced titanium frame, which creates a more stable club head.
