Well, we went behind the scenes with Mike Lea at the Ping Factory HQ in Gainsborough to see for ourselves.
Our publisher Tom Irwin had gone through a fitting for some Ping G irons but rather than waiting for them to be sent, we went down into the factory to see them being made.
There are 100 full time staff working Monday to Friday at the factory and attention is paid to every detail.
All the lofts and lie angles are checked rigorously with the lie angle dots painted on by hand.
Computer technology is used to measure that all the lofts and lie angles are pinpoint accurate.
The factory in Gainsborough is one of three in the world where Ping golf clubs are made with the others in Arizona and Tokyo.
