Puma Performance Enjoy Golf Tour Umbrella

You need an umbrella to first and foremost do its job of keeping you dry in bad conditions.
The Puma Performance Tour umbrella coped admirably with near constant rain and wind.
Its fibreglass frame is strong and sturdy but lightweight making it easy to hold without giving you arm ache.
The large double canopy means it won’t invert in high winds and when I tested it in pretty grim conditions there was no wobbling or flapping of the fabric and the canopy was large enough to keep me completely dry and protected.

For once, I was delighted to see the dark clouds floating in and reached enthusiastically for my Ping Tour 68” Umbrella.
Within seconds I had popped it up and was safely dry underneath – as was the golf bag on my shoulders.
The soft handle is comfortable to hold and, given the size, it is remarkably lightweight.
There is the world of difference between a standard umbrella and one like this – this is a serious piece of equipment that is built with a double canopy to withstand the elements even on the wettest of days.
That makes it worth the investment if you are serious about your golf game.
Of course, as an additional bonus, you will also have an extremely useful piece of kit for everyday life.

As soon as I arrived at the course I was greeted with a big downpour, which the umbrella coped well with. There was as a fairly strong wind the day I tested it. Again, the umbrella felt perfectly comfortable and accustomed to handling the conditions.
Oscar Jacobson say that their is a 64″ diameter, vented umbrella that is designed to cope with the most extreme weather conditions. Features like its sturdy fibreglass frame also help to facilitate this. Although the weather I endured wasn’t particularly extreme, I didn’t experience any signs to suggest it couldn’t take on extreme conditions.
The pop up mechanism, which is pretty standard for golf umbrellas now, worked well. I found it easy to put it up even in a strong wind.
If you are like me and you carry your bag around the course, its lightweight frame doesn’t add much weight to your bag. Its lightweight frame also means it’s a comfortable weight to carry and hold when the heavens decide to open.
Additionally, as far as comfortability is concerned I found that the contoured grip on the handle sat nicely in my hand.
PROS
- Can cope with extreme weather
- Fully waterproof
- Smart design
- Classy look
- Reasonably priced
CONS
- None
