The construction is robust – I particularly liked the comfortable handle and the ease of opening via a quick release push button. A double velcro fastening helps you fold up tidily and there’s also a protective sleeve to stop it flapping around.

I wondered how long I would need to carry this umbrella around before I could put it into practice and the answer was for one and a half rounds.

For once, I was delighted to see the dark clouds floating in and reached enthusiastically for my Ping Tour 68” Umbrella.
Within seconds I had popped it up and was safely dry underneath – as was the golf bag on my shoulders.

Motocaddy provides a sleeve for this umbrella to be stored in. Unlike others I’ve tried this was a much thicker material and not liable to slide off as some may do.
Overall, a unique very well thought design that will certainly be getting plenty more use by me.
The Big Max Aqua is a new lightweight umbrella option coming in a range of colourful options. I tested this in the lime/charcoal design which I wasn’t sure on to start with as I’m use to more plain options.
However, when it starts raining it’s nice to have a little pop of colour to lift the mood on the course.
The Big Max Aqua umbrella is one of the lightest umbrella’s that I’ve tried in years. This doesn’t mean that it’s any smaller as it spans to 132cm. The handle is foam meaning that it’s very soft to hold. One thing I would say about the softer foam handle is that when I put it in the umbrella holder it wasn’t as solid as my previous firmer handled umbrella.
Putting the Big Max Aqua up is very quick and easy. A button on the handle can be pressed up open up the umbrella. I really like this as when a short sharpe shower happens it’s so handy to grab the Aqua umbrella and have it up straight away.
Putting it down was also pretty smooth. Holding the button in and sliding the umbrella down was also pretty simple, but on occasions did take a couple of times for it to click into the place.
Overall, I think that this is a great umbrella that is simple to work and is lightweight.
The green colour way is also a welcomed pop of colour to add on the side of my golf bag.
As soon as I arrived at the course I was greeted with a big downpour, which the umbrella coped well with. There was as a fairly strong wind the day I tested it. Again, the umbrella felt perfectly comfortable and accustomed to handling the conditions.

Additionally, as far as comfortability is concerned I found that the contoured grip on the handle sat nicely in my hand.

Compared to one of my single canopy umbrellas that I use when carrying it was about 200g heavier at around 945g. It does mean that this feels very robust and, with its WindPro® technology should withstand significant winds.
