The best of the best! We roundup the best budget golf shoes in 2025
Over the years the NCG team have rigorously tested numerous pairs of golf shoes. The team have put together a list of the best budget golf shoes 2025 that you can buy from across 6 quality brands – these have been chosen either because their full RRP represents great value or they are now at a fantastic discounted price.
They have been worn in the sun, in the rain, in the sleet, on our home courses, on away courses, in the fairway, in the sand, in the rough, and sadly even in the heather to be able to create honest reviews you the club golfer can actually trust.
We’ve scoured through all the press releases and know all the technology, and left no stone unturned to be able to assemble our list of the best budget/discounted golf shoes 2025.
I have had many pairs of FootJoy shoes over the years, if I had a criticism in recently it has been around a slightly loose fit. These change all that. I tested them on the same day as several other brands and these were miles ahead for out of the box snug fit. They feel stable, and grip the foot but are extremely comfortable golf shoes. This is quite the feat (pardon the pun)
This hybrid look is slightly strange out of the box as the sole is so unrelated to the upper but you don’t notice this when they are on, and you get a classic looking shoe with trainer levels of comfort.
Little insider knowledge, Bill Ho wears these as a preference to more premium models as they are super light weight. He knows his onions.
Pros:
A proper fit, like a golf shoe should fit
Trainer levels of comfort
Classic styling is a antidote to all the other on course off course carry on
Cons:
Probs would not choose two tone

Out of the box, these are a fab looking pair of golf shoes. They offer a casual, athletic style thanks to the VersaTrax outsole which has a spikeless bottom. The sole is made up from small risen nibs that help to provide traction when playing. Â
The upper part of the shoe is made up of a plastic feeling material, that helps to provide a waterproof coating. The purple part of these shoes at the back and around the heel is leather for reinforcement.Â
If the purple and grey colourway isn’t for you, FootJoy offers the Performa golf shoes in White/Blue and Cream/Beige/Multi.Â
These shoes quickly became a personal favourite of me. I really loved how they were comfy from the get go and I didn’t have to walk around my house for days trying to bed them in. I loved how after a venture into the mud they cleaned up both easily and well so that’s a huge win. Â
The moment you get these out the box and have them in your hand you can see this is a premium, substantial, leather golf shoe.
As someone with a wider foot, I have tended to shy away from Adidas shoes due to a belief that they are a narrow fit. On first glance these shoes do look narrow and so was thinking I am not even going to be able to get these on!
However, much to my surprise, once on they were absolutely fine and actually felt like they were made to wrap around my foot.
From a performance point of view if I was to sum up these shoes in one word it would be ‘stability’ and if allowed two words they would be ‘stability’ and ‘comfort’.
A fantastic shoe that has made someone ignore Adidas shoes in the past to seriously consider making these the go to golf shoe for most of the year.
Pros:
Premium look and feel
Comfortable – even for someone with a wide foot
Heel and sole design creates stability
Cons:
Unsure of how they will hold up over the entire season

Pros:
Colourway of Cloud White-Collegiate Green-Gum was brilliantÂ
As a fan of Payntr golf shoes, I can confidently say they’ve become my go-to choice. The seamless blend of performance and aesthetics has won me over.
If you are only looking at having one pair of golf shoes to wear whatever the weather then the X-003 Fs are an excellent choice. I even tested them out during outdoor Padel sessions, and despite me hardly moving like Usain Bolt, they handled slippery autumn and winter conditions with ease.
Pros:
Unbelievably comfortable
Attractive sporty style
Easy to clean
Waterproof
Cons:
Not a fan of the white heel – would have preferred them to be all black

I have owned my fair share of Adidas trainers in the past and these are not too dissimilar. You can be forgiven for thinking these are a regular pair of shoes at first glance. But, that is what I love about the Adidas Retrocross 25 spikes golf shoes. They can be worn anytime, anyplace including on the golf course.
Most importantly they perform fantastically. They are extremely comfortable and provide quality grip despite being spikeless. They also offer some protection from the elements with waterproof upper material. This may be the most fashionable golf shoe on the market currently.
This golf shoe from Adidas suits a wide range of golfers who are looking for both style and comfort. They are on the edge of suiting any off-course setting too. You wouldn’t look out of place wearing these shoes in a social setting.Â
The spikeless design adds to the comfort and style of these shoes. I found them to be sturdy, durable and a great fit for my feet when I was out on the golf course. As well as the feeling, the design predictably got me in the mood for the Masters and the rest of the golf season with its split of white and green.
It isn’t every day you come across a pair of golf shoes that you could wear on and off the golf course, but you have come across one here for sure. This isn’t to say that I would wear them out and about over a pair of trainers, but they definitely have the look and design to masquerade as a pair of trainers in social settings, and you wouldn’t bat an eyelid.
You could wear these to watch a sports event, and you could wear them in other social settings.
Pros:
Trainer/athletic look is very appealing
Comfortable with no stress on the golf course
Can be worn in off-course settings
Cons:
Some golfers might prefer a more traditional look

Now, I usually enjoy waxing lyrical about how Puma golf shoes suit non-golf settings, social settings where you can walk around town and go for a drink while wearing them. If I’m being honest, which I am, then I don’t think the Puma Avant golf shoes suit social settings.
By all means, if you are going to watch other sports and the conditions are wet, cold and muddy – go for it. They are reliable and again, the colour compliments the season. So in that regard, I can’t really fault the Puma Avant golf shoes because they do suit other sporting contexts.
If you do wear them away from the golf course for long periods, they aren’t going to give your feet any grief. A key reason for this is not having any spikes. Without spikes, there is less chance of your feet suffering from wear and tear, so this is a huge plus.
The fact that the Puma GS-X shoes have a wider base than where your foot sits means that during your swing there is a lot of stability. This continues when you walk around the course, especially on a hillier course like the one I play at.
Overall, I really enjoyed wearing these Puma golf shoes and they have been out on the course many times over the last month and will continue to be throughout the rest of the season.
Better known for producing quality cricket shoes Payntr have now entered the golf market. It is not often a new golf shoe comes along and you think, yep, I might just consider shifting allegiance and move away from the more established brands. Having tested these shoes I do think they could be a disruptor in the market. Along with Jason Day, I would happily be a Payntr brand champion!
Simply – they are the best golf shoes I have ever tested.
They are unbelievably comfortable, attractively designed and leaves you with the feeling a lot of thought has gone into producing a shoe to break into the golf market.Â
If you are looking for a new shoe for the Spring/Summer I would seriously consider the PAYNTR brand. What’s more if you get lucky with your size and colour preference there are some great deals to be had – read on to find out more
Pros:
Unbelievably comfortable
Attractive sporty style
Colourway of grey and green I loved
Cons:
Might be hard to clean and so not a 12 month a year shoe
I’ve always found golf shoes are generally chosen by brand over comfort and traction. A great golf shoe should give you stability but leave a spring in your step walking up the 18thfairway. The Sketchers GO Golf Temp GF didn’t disappoint in this area.
From the moment I put the shoes on they were unbelievably comfortable and I had no issues regarding tightness or rubbing. I am a size 10 with slightly wider feet and these were a true fit that moulded to my feet instantly.
As I walked up the final hole it was like I had been wearing my favourite trainers for the walk. The Skechers have a great feel about them and are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn.
The GO Golf Tempo GF is a great shoe. I would say it is a hybrid between a traditional golf shoe style and the more modern, trainer styles that are around. If all you care about is comfort and performance then you can’t go wrong with these. They are at an attractive price point and don’t look out of place in the spike bar post round.
Pros:
Comfort straight out of the box
Lightweight with stable grip
Great range of colours available
Cons:
Conservative looks

On the course they were a joy to walk in, providing a good balance of support and comfort. I really liked the soles as they had superb traction. Some spikeless designs can look like they may be left wanting in really wet conditions but not so with these and I suspect they will perform as well as any spiked sole. This makes them a potential all-year shoe.
When swinging there was excellent support. There are many shoes now available where the technology and design have produced shoes with great comfort and performance. The Skechers GO Golf Blade Slip-ins are no exception. Due to the DNA of Skechers, I had some concerns that these shoes may have prioritised comfort over performance. These concerns proved unfounded and I was mightily impressed with these shoes. If you are in the market for a new pair of golf shoes definitely check these out. I do not think you will be disappointed.
Pros:
Supremely comfortable
Waterproof
Modern athletic looks
Cons:
Design might not be for everyone

Under Armour Drive Medal Waterproof Spikeless Golf Shoe
One of the standout features of these shoes is their waterproofing — but interestingly, that wasn’t obvious at first glance. When I initially tried them on, I had no idea they were waterproof, which really speaks to how well Under Armour has blended function with style. They look sleek and modern, without the bulky or rubbery appearance you might expect from waterproof gear.Â
Overall, the Under Armour Drive Medal golf shoes have really impressed me. They combine sleek, modern styling with practical features like waterproofing and excellent grip, all without sacrificing comfort. After a month of frequent use, they’ve proven to be durable and reliable, with performance that holds up across a variety of course conditions.Â
If you’re after a stylish pair of golf shoes that don’t just look the part but truly deliver on functionality, these are a great choice — especially for summer golf. Comfortable, supportive, good value and built to last, they’ve more than earned their spot in my golfing wardrobe.
Pros:
Durable Â
Easy to cleanÂ
Comfy FitÂ
Cons:
None

At National Club Golfer, we are passionate about producing accurate and thorough reviews and making sure our testing process is rigorous so we get a good understanding of how each pair of shoes performs.
Each shoe is worn out on the golf course whilst playing golf, so we can get an idea of overall performance in terms of factors like comfort, grip, stability in the golf swing, waterproof protection and how they actually look on the golf course.
What is important when buying Golf shoes?
When buying new golf footwear its important to know what attributes or features you value the most before deciding on a brand or model to buy. For example, do you want spiked or spikeless shoes?
A lot of golfers think comfort is paramount when choosing a shoe, we are going to be standing in them for 3-5 hours right? Some golf shoes on the market have special insoles and cushioned mid-soles designed to keep your feet feeling fresh. Also it’s pretty common for golfers with wide feet to wear the wrong sized pair of golf shoes so its worth getting fit properly.
Grip is vital to good performance on the golf course as any foot slip in dry or wet conditions can not only cause the golf club to swing improperly but may also lead to an injury.
Nearly all golf shoes will either be fully waterproof or offer some kind of water resistance, and this is important as real die-hard golfers play in every weather condition. Having wet feet for 4 hours is not and will never be fun.
How good the shoe looks is of course subjective to personal style, but is important to any player. Do you prefer an athletic-looking shoe, or are you more traditional? Does your shoe offer on-course off-course style or do you want shoes purely for the course? Does the style of shoe you like have the best color options for your golfing wardrobe?
Price is the last factor to consider. With the models above we have tried to find shoes at all different price points so if you want a shoe at a lower cost, you can get one. Or if you want to spend more, you can do that too. Importantly there is something for everyone.
What brands produce the best golf shoes?
All of the products in this best golf shoes 2025 article are picked from the brands that offer what we believe to be the best golf shoes on the market.
Do any pros wear spikeless golf shoes on tour?
As you will see on TV when watching the PGA, LPGA & DP World Tour, professionals wear both spiked and spikeless golf shoes, depending on their preference.
Some tour players are looking for extra stability and grip for maximum power creation that a spiked golf shoe might offer, and others are looking for the comfort and style that spikeless golf shoes offer. Some tour players prefer a running shoe style, and others a traditional classic leather shoe; there really isn’t a hard or fast rule as to what tour players wear.
