Cobra’s fourth generation of Forged Tec irons are here, with more options than ever before.
Cobra King Forged Tec irons: First impressions
These new Forged Tec irons look stunning. Cobra have done a seriously great job of making these players irons have a really clean, sleek shaping.

Plus, they even cover GPS watches, trolleys, and other golf equipment. To take their Forged Tec irons to the next level, Cobra focused on improving three key areas of the irons.
First up was a five-step forged body and clubface. The irons have a hollow body design. This allows for 20 grams of tungsten to be positioned strategically inside the club head to drive up MOI and stability. It also allows the CG to be centred right behind the sweet spot to give that pure strike feeling.
Inside the club head there is a lighter and softer foam. This helps drive up ball speed and increase distance as well as helping to improve the sound and deliver soft feel. Each iron also has a forged PWRSHELL face to create maximum speed and high launch.
Finally Cobra have created thinner toplines and reduced the offset throughout the irons to give golfers the desired look for a players iron.
They are also available in a one length offering with a constant 7-iron length set-up. Having each iron the same length helps promote a consistent set-up and swing for increased consistency.

It is not simply a case of using the same iron heads though. Cobra engineers had to tweak the design of this model to match the swing weight and length of a 7-iron. This helps to maintain optimal gapping between each iron.
Also in the range are the Forged Tec X irons. These are a more forgiving offering and what Cobra are calling a “player’s game improvement iron”. They have a low CG design thanks to 65 grams of tungsten low in the club head. This provides maximum stability and also higher launch despite the stronger lofts in this model.
We still see a clean players shaping but these do have a slightly thicker topline than we see in the Forged Tec irons. Importantly though these still deliver that soft, forged-like sound and feel.
