Although it has a higher launch and spin rate than that of the Pro V1 it by no means balloons in the air. Golfers, as a result, are able to access plenty of distance.

Overall, the Titleist Pro V1x has noticeably produced quicker ball speeds than that of the previous generation of Pro V1xs. Although it has a higher launch and spin rate than that of the Pro V1 it by no means balloons in the air. Golfers, as a result, are able to access plenty of distance.
I wanted to put the 2023 and 2021 Pro V1’s head-to-head and see the differences.
I think the big difference for me between the two was that the ball flight went more stable. You can see many of my data variables were similar across the two models, but the 2023 Pro V1 was much improved in terms of dispersion. This wasn’t what I expected when I set out to do the testing. I think some of this came down to the ball being more stable in wind as it was a windy day during my initial testing.
I also felt the 2023 ball stayed in the air longer while watching the ball flight during testing. This is reflected in the carry distances, with the new ball being about 2 yards longer. It also flew slightly higher, which will have affected the visual of the flight too.
It also had excellent grip and control on short chips around the green. When chipping and putting I really liked the soft feel.
Overall, this is clearly a great performing all-round golf ball. It performs exceptionally well across all categories. You get a great balance of feel, distance and control. If you are after a tour-level golf ball, it is impossible to go wrong with this.

The big draw to this golf ball is the high levels of short-game spin. I love how much you can get this to grip and spin around the greens when chipping, especially from bunkers.
Surprisingly during pitching, my spin was very similar to what I saw with the Pro V1 averaging just 31 rpm more but I think this may have been affected by slightly damp conditions.
This golf ball performed exceptionally well with mid-irons. All my data was super consistent, but I was particularly impressed with the distance control.
Compared to the Pro V1, the ball flight was slightly higher getting to 93.8 feet on average compared to 90.6 feet but interestingly, with identical launch angles.
Overall, as expected, the Pro V1x delivered a very solid performance. It you like the Pro V1 performance but want something that flights slightly higher and spins slightly more around the greens this is a perfect option.
A couple of years ago, Titleist surprised the fans and released the Pro V1x Left Dash model, and I was extremely excited to hit the updated version of it.
The Left Dash model is designed to feel firmer and spin less on full-swing shots than the other 2 balls in the family.
The big headline is that this was the longest ball I tested on our big NCG ball test trip to Woodhall Spa. 267.5 yards average carry is very long for me, and that’s with quite high spin numbers. The ball really seemed to rocket off the face, and the 163mph average ball speed echoes that.
Interestingly I also hit the Left Dash Pro V1x higher than any other ball I tested.

Overall, this is clearly a great performing all-around golf ball. It performs exceptionally well across all categories. Personally, it felt too hard for me around the greens, but Titleist do produce some other great options in the Pro V1 and Pro V1x, so if, despite its really solid testing scores, it still isn’t quite right, you can still get the same performance out of a different Titleist.
This really is a brilliant golf ball with plenty of performance to offer. Performance that makes it a very credible alternative to the Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x.
Around the greens the level of control I was able to exhibit was great. It also continues to excel off the tee as the low spin and flatter ball flight generate phenomenal distance.
While players who rely heavily on high-spin full shots may prefer the Pro V1 or Pro V1x, the AVX is an excellent choice for those seeking a premium alternative that delivers distance without sacrificing short-game performance. Another 5-star performance from Titleist, proving yet again why they are considered leaders in the golf ball market.
If you’re looking for a premium-feel golf ball without paying tour-level prices, the Titleist Tour Soft is a five-star option. It is engineered for players who prioritise feel and short-game control.
The ball flight off the tee is really stable and is low in spin so it travels a fair distance down the fairway. Despite not having an urethane cover the spin around the greens is still very good.
The Titleist Tour Soft is one of the best non-tour balls on the market, offering superb all-around performance at a reasonable price. With impressive distance off the driver, excellent spin with irons, and remarkable greenside control, it delivers everything an amateur golfer could want.

If you want a ball that performs close to a tour ball without breaking the bank, the Titleist Tour Soft is a must-try.

The latest Titleist TruFeel did seriously impress me and even exceeded some of the expectations I had for it. It features a True Touch core and a new 3.0 TruFlex cover, this two-piece golf ball offers durability and a surprisingly decent spin performance at lower swing speeds.
While it may not suit high-speed swingers due to lower ball speed and reduced control on full shots, it remains a solid option for those looking for a soft, forgiving golf ball at an affordable price.
