Suffolk

There are plenty of stunning golfing venues in the region of East Anglia, many of those in Suffolk. Thorpeness offers the perfect place to stay as a resort, and you can pair that with a day at Woodbridge, to play on their Heath Course.

Fylde Coast

The northwest coastline of England is well known for being one of the best areas in the United Kingdom for links golf, with no fewer than three Open Championship-hosting venues in the region. At the northern end of that, you will find Fleetwood, a proper links test on the coast. Fairhaven, a mixture of links and heathland, is another amazing venue.

West Midlands

The West Midlands is blessed with many sublime inland courses, with a great mixture of parkland and heathland layouts. The Harry Colt-designed Edgbaston is a hidden gem, as is the great Sutton Coldfield, while Sherwood Forest always stands out from the pack.

The west coast of Wales is littered with great golfing havens, but none more so than its big two. Royal St David’s is known as the ‘toughest par 69 in the world’, while Aberdovey, some 40 miles to the south, winds its way around the bay, in the shadows of the mountains.

Gloucestershire

Although not necessarily a region that you might associate with golf, the county of Gloucestershire has some gems. Cleeve Hill is one of the best hilltop courses in the country, while the Old Course at Minchinhampton is one of three stunning layouts at the venue.

North Wales

Now let’s not forget about the top of the country either. There are some gems on the northern coastline of Wales, from cheap and cheerful to championship level. Conwy definitely fits into the latter category, while the likes of Prestatyn and Bull Bay offer great options in the region as well.

Cornwall

England’s southwestern-most county is another that is full of fantastic golfing venues. Trevose offers the perfect base to stay. Not only is it a championship-level golf course, but the resort is also fantastic. Meanwhile, the likes of West Cornwall and Perranporth are terrific links layouts that are must-plays while you’re in Cornwall!

North West London

The region that includes Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire is another area of the country that is full of wonderful golf courses, all of which have their own charms and challenges. South Manchester

When it comes to the northwest of England, most golfers will immediately think of the Fylde Coast with its Open Championship venues among many other stunning links courses. Cumbria

Move further north, and you have the option between choosing Cumbria or the North East. Both other cheap golfing options, with Cumbria having an array of stunning links courses along that northwest coastline of England. Seascale and Furness Old Links are two fine examples, while Appleby offers a moorland track further inland.
