Having recently celebrated its centenary, the Trevose Golf & Country Club continues to offer world-class links golf with stunning ocean views.
The Championship Course sits on the Cornish coastline, bringing the Celtic Sea into play at times throughout the front nine. The layout pushes past the 7,000-yard mark from the back tees, and plays as a proper links course.
Trevose’s Championship Course is a true golfers’ paradise, thanks to its setting on the Atlantic Ocean coastline, its resort properties, and its marvellous history.
History
The story of the land that Trevose Golf Club now sits on dates back much further than the golf course. It all starts with Dr Penrose Williams, who was fixated on the presence of a Holy Well buried in the area.
It was the 1920s when Harry Colt visited the region, with the great man – designer of the likes of Royal Liverpool, Swinley Forest and Royal Portrush’s Dunluce Course – laying out the Championship Course at Trevose.
The Championship Course celebrated its centenary year in 2025, and it has played host to the Brabazon Trophy and the European Legends Tour, in the form of the 2021 European Legends Links Championship, in recent years.
What makes the Trevose Golf & Country Club special?
Like many golf courses in the English county of Cornwall, when you play a round at the Trevose Golf & Country Club, you will become encapsulated by the glorious views.
Its location, next to Trevose Head jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean, offers a championship-level links layout along the Cornish coastline, one that will test every part of your game.
The venue is also not just a golf club. Trevose is a fantastic resort, one that ranks well on the NCG Top 100s: GB&I Resorts list as well. The Trevose Resort offers up sublime accommodation in the form of apartments and cottages, all with views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Where is Trevose Golf & Country Club?
Trevose is one of the southwesternmost courses on the NCG Top 100s: England list. It is on the coastline of Constantine Bay, just south of the Trevose Head Heritage Coast. Newquay is just over ten miles down the coast while Plymouth is just over an hour to the southeast. Cornwall Airport Newquay is the same distance, but it is a seasonal airport, with most flights only coming in the summer. Instead, Bristol Airport might be the better option. It is three hours from Trevose, but has a much wider range of flight destinations.
