It’s a long and arduous process to get to the point where we publish a new NCG Top 100s list, and this time, it’s Wales – but what were our panellists highlights?
There are some stunning golf courses in Wales, with beautiful seaside links venues, along with inland moorland courses.
Imagine waking up, driving to the course and realising you’re playing in the bounds of Snowdonia National Park? Or you’re overlooking the Irish Sea? That’s the beauty of golf in Wales and the diverse nature on offer.
But what did our panellists think? They all will have played different courses, so all of their high points will be different, or will they…?

What were our panellists highlights from their trips to Wales?
Greg Webber: The passion and pride that people have for their course, and the desire to make it the best that it can be.
Jim Banting: Conwy Golf Club – the changes made over the last few years have added charm and character to this wonderful links layout.
Sean Arble: Experiencing St David’s City for the first time. It’s a real member run course, but with the twist of having an all-Wales hole with the 3rd.
Ed Battye: Discovering the delights of the first 12 holes at Abersoch.
Alex Frolish: A sunny twilight round on a beautifully still September afternoon at Ashburnham.
Chris Myatt: An early morning at Cardigan on a bright and clear day meant that the careful architecture and spectacular views could be enjoyed in equal measures.
Dan Murphy: Boarding the 15th tee at Royal St David’s on a dreamy summer’s evening and realising that this hole was even better than I remembered.
David Walker: Walking to the 9th tee at Tenby and being surprised by the unexpected beauty of the view.
Mike Robertson: Getting back to Conwy after a few years. I always love a summer evening round Conwy.

Peter Rudd: All the courses I played had excellent greens which were true and smooth. They also required great shotmaking to score well.
Neil Gray: Returning to Royal Porthcawl and finding it even better than I remember from the first time I played it. A truly wonderful experience.
