The NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Courses list has been updated for 2024 but which courses give you the best value for money when it comes to a round of golf?
We know the prices of the very best golf courses are flying up, with reports that a round on the Ailsa Course at Trump Turnberry will be costing £1000 next year…
However, there are also plenty of hidden gems on the new NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Courses list, and there are six venues where you can play for £100 or less!
Below, we have listed our top ten courses when it comes to value, including a couple of options which are slightly more expensive, but considering the quality, they are certainly worth it.

Which are the best value courses on the NCG Top 100s: GB&I list?
Silloth-on-Solway
Often regarding as the best value golf course in the United Kingdom, Silloth-on-Solway was always going to make the cut on this list. Inside the top 60 on the NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Courses list, England’s most remote links course is less than £100, so there isn’t much better than Silloth when it comes to value!

Machrihanish
The opening hole at Machrihanish is one of the all-time greats, and it leads on to incredible things… Machrihanish is as romantic a links course as you are likely to find, and it sits at what feels like the end of the golfing world. At £120, you can’t say no if you’re in the area.

Royal St David’s
One of five Welsh courses to make the NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Courses list, Royal St David’s is also one of four venues in Wales that makes this list as well. To be able to play a ‘Royal’ for £100 is incredible value in this day and age, and at a course where the short holes are especially memorable as well!

Royal North Devon
Another ‘Royal’, and another that’s only going to cost you £100. Royal North Devon is one of several stunning courses in the south west corner of England. It is a course that has changed significantly over recent years due to coastal erosion, but the spirit remains true at Royal North Devon.

Machrihanish Dunes
Just down the road from the aforementioned Machrihanish sits Machrihanish Dunes, designed by David McLay Kidd. Sat on the Kintyre Peninsula, it continues to mature and blend itself into its landscape, and considering how new it is, at only £100, it is incredible value.

Aberdovey
With ten new championship tees and extensive recent bunker renovation have taken Aberdovey to an even higher level. It is one of the most charming links on the NCG Top 100s: GB&I list, and with the likes of Colt, Braid and Fowler as its architects, it becomes a must-play for golf historians.

Pennard
Pennard is known as the ‘Links in the Sky’, as it plays like a links course despite being some 200 feet above sea level. That gives golfers incredible views around the bay, and it is situated in the Gower Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the Gower Peninsula. If you play at Pennard throughout the week in 2025, it will only set you back £125.

Seacroft
If you’re looking for a course that has uneven fairways, greens at angles and a layout where the positioning of your ball is at a premium, then Seacroft is the course for you! The Lincolnshire venue has been recently improved by Clyde Johnson, but it remains at just £80 for a round throughout 2024.

Seaton Carew
Seaton Carew is one of England’s oldest clubs, with a links course that combines undulating greens and firm turf with a backdrop of the industrial past of Hartlepool. Another course that will cost less than £100 for a round, and if you fancy a twilight round, it can be as little as £50 – an absolute bargain!

Conwy
Situated on the Caernarvonshire coastline, Conwy Golf Club is a real gem. A number of holes take you along the beach, and you have to deal with the elements, but on a glorious summer’s evening, with the sunshine coming across the bay, there is arguably no better place to be playing your golf.

What about other good value venues?
There are plenty of other venues that you could class as good value, especially compared to some of the eye-watering prices that you might find at a number of the courses at the very top of the list.
The Hotchkin Course at Woodhall Spa sits inside the top 20 on the NCG Top 100s: GB&I Golf Courses list. However, a round on the Hotchkin will cost just £160 for any England Golf members in 2025.

Goswick Golf Club – which is one of the gems of the northeast of England, can also be classed in this category, coming in at £130 per weekday round in 2024.
