WITB: Kristoffer Broberg’s BMW Masters-winning gear
Kristoffer Broberg relied on a full bag of Callaway equipment as he earned his maiden European Tour victory at the BMW Masters at Lake Malaren GC, Shanghai, China.
A birdie on the first play-off hole against fellow Callaway Staffer Patrick Reed secured victory for the 29-year-old Swede, after he carded an impressive 4-under 68 in regulation play, following rounds of 69, 70 and 64.
It was the 13th win by a Callaway staff professional on the Race to Dubai this year.
Overall, it was a superb week in China for Callaway, as three staff professionals topped the leaderboard.
I’m just so happy to win, because I worked so hard all year” – Kristoffer Broberg The 2013 Race to Dubai champion Henrik Stenson missed out on the play-off by the smallest of margins, completing 72-holes in 272 blows, just one behind Broberg and Reed, to finish T3.
Broberg said: “I worked so hard all my life for this. I’m just so happy to win on the main tour, because I won four times on the Challenge Tour. I’m just so happy to win, because I worked so hard all year.
“Patrick’s short game was unbelievable all day. I was playing really good the front nine, and I was struggling a bit, a little nervous. On the last the four last holes, I was really, really nervous.”
