What’s in Kitayama’s winning bag?
We take a look inside the American’s bag from this weekend’s European Tour event at Al Mouj Golf
Kurt Kitayama’s second European Tour title at the Oman Open was the fourth win for TaylorMade’s new M5 and M6 drivers and the fifth win for their 2019 TP5 and TP5x balls.
We take a look inside the American’s bag.
What’s in Kitayama’s bag?
Gaming the M5 driver, Kitayama blew the field away with his distance off the tee, averaging over 325 yards and six yards better than his nearest competitor. Kitayama also uses the TaylorMade M2 fairway wood.
The American plays the increasing popular GAPR Mid 3-iron equipped with a Graphite Design DI 105 X shaft.
Kitayama has a slightly mixed iron set-up, opting to go with the TaylorMade P750 4-iron and then the TaylorMade P730 from his 5-iron to his pitching wedge. All his irons are equipped with Dynamic Gold X100 shafts.
The American plays 52 and 56° TaylorMade Milled Grind wedges alongside the company’s Hi-Toe 60° wedge and they are equipped with the Dynamic Gold S400 shafts.
The 26-year-old’s wedge game was tremendous throughout the tournament and he had a sand save conversion of 100% across the four rounds.
Despite using TaylorMade clubs throughout the rest of his bag, Kitayama opts to play an Odyssey Toulon Design putter.
Kitayama’s putter was on fire over the weekend as he ranked inside the top 10 during his third and fourth rounds for number of putts taken.
The American opts to play with the 2019 TaylorMade TP5x ball and wears Adidas clothing.
