Give Rory a break – you’d all do the same
Reed all about it
Seeing as The Masters is just four months away, of course Patrick Reed was asked what he’ll serve at the Champions Dinner.
Reed said he plans to “fatten everyone up”, saying he’ll serve bone-in ribeye steak, macaroni and cheese, creamed corn and creamed spinach.
He added:
I’ll go caesar salad, but then I was going to make multiple options because some guys might not like steak. So there will be grilled chicken, there will probably be some kind of seafood as well.
I want to please everyone there. It’s not just for me, it’s for all the past champions and everybody and I want everyone to have a great time.
Which is a lovely thing to say from someone who apparently has no friends on tour.
The question is, will Jordan Spieth have someone testing his food for him?
By the way, if you’re interested in what the NCG team would serve…
Match of the Year(s)
And finally, thought The Match was awful? Well you’re in for a treat, because it’s been reported in the US that Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson signed a three-year deal – so we’re going to see it this year and next, too.
According to a report from Golf Digest:
Turner’s three-year deal is with both Woods’ and Mickelson’s business companies, so you can certainly expect both men to be involved in the following two events. However, the next match-up is highly likely to be a team event, which will draw an extra two players to the contest, along with Woods and Mickelson.
Phew.
Right, that’s enough from me. Enjoy the golf this week. Hawaii looks nice, doesn’t it?
Sigh.
It’s the little things: How to lose your dignity at the golf club
Is 2019 the year Tiger emerges from the major shadows?
What was the best course you played in 2018?
