Who is Robert MacIntyre’s caddie?

Bob MacIntyre has had a few caddies during his career on tour, including his dad who he won the RBC Canadian Open with in 2024

Bob MacIntyre has undergone a couple of changes in his caddie setup over recent years.

Early in his pro career, Scotland’s MacIntyre worked with Greg Milne, who had carried his bag as he progressed on to the DP World Tour.

The pair split in 2020, with MacIntyre describing the decision as ‘one of the hardest’ of his life.

Following the Milne separation, MacIntyre brought in Mike Thomson, and the two enjoyed some early success together, including a victory at the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown in 2020.

After that, in mid-2023 and into 2024, MacIntyre explored other options: he worked with Mike Burrow and Scott Carmichael.

In an emotional and memorable twist, during the 2024 RBC Canadian Open, MacIntyre had his father Dougie step in as his caddie for the week. Dougie is a greenkeeper at Glencruitten Golf Club in Oban, and this father-and-son partnership culminated in MacIntyre’s first PGA Tour win.

“Goose bumps. It’s incredible. It’s a dream of mine to play golf for a living. It’s been a dream of mine to win on the PGA Tour, when I got my PGA Tour card, and I just can’t believe I’ve done it with my dad on the bag,” he said.

“The guy’s taught me the way I play golf., I never make it easy, and he said that, when I was 16 or 17, he’s going, ‘You never make this easy’. And that’s the way I play golf, I play it with the heart on the sleeve, and we got a hell of a fight in the two of us and I just can’t believe that I’ve won on the PGA Tour.”

As of the 2025 season, MacIntyre and Burrow are now a permanent pair. The pair had first teamed up loosely late in 2023 and officially joined forces in 2024, bringing a sense of stability to MacIntyre’s support team.

Burrow had been Masters champion Danny Willett’s caddie, but joined MacIntyre when Willett got injured. He rejoined Willett when he was back to fitness, which left a void in MacIntyre’s team.

One month after winning the RBC Canadian Open, MacIntyre and Burrow won the Genesis Scottish Open together. On the same day that England’s football side lost to Spain in the final of the European Championships, Scotland was also in high spirits when MacIntyre rolled in a super putt on the 72nd hole at the Renaissance Club to win his national open.

Before, Burrow has also caddied for Scott Henry, Marcus Armitage, Garrick Porteous and Mike Lorenzo-Vera. He also won the Dubai Desert Classic in 2018 with Haotong Li.
