PING have released an adjustable, belly-length version of the putter Hunter Mahan used to notch two wins on the PGA Tour this year.
The Nome 405 can be adjusted from 37.5 to 46.5 inches using an adjustment tool on the shaft. The shaft is telescopic and slides inside itself when not fully extended.
Ping are the first manufacturer to release such a model that conforms to the rules.
“With the popularity of belly putters we saw a unique fitting opportunity,” said CEO John Solheim.
“Adjustability is key because the standard belly putter fits a narrow range of people. When the shaft is too long or short, it alters your distance from the ball, your eye position, and the path of your stroke.
“Adjustability lets you experiment until your posture is comfortable and your eyes are over the ball.”
The Nome 405 is available in three shaft bends to suit different stroke types. Expect to see it in shops from May 1 with a retail price of £249. For more information, visit www.ping.com
