The Netflix PGA Tour series is here, but how do I watch it?

Full Swing has finally arrived on Netflix, but what can you expect to see in the new PGA Tour documentary series?

We have made it everyone. The wait is finally over and the new Netflix documentary all about the PGA Tour has finally landed.

As Ian Poulter says in the show’s trailer, the Netflix cameras chose ‘a hell of a year’ to cover the PGA Tour in what were the most controversial 12 months in the history of the circuit.

The emergence of LIV Golf at the start of 2022 added a whole new dynamic to ‘Full Swing’ which only increased anticipation and excitement for the release date.

Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler are just a handful of the top players who chose to take part in the behind-the-curtain style programme.

Taking inspiration from the popular Drive to Survive series on Formula One, Full Swing intends to deliver not-seen-before access to the players while also educating new fans about the sport.

It has been billed as a must-see series, so you need to know how to watch it and what you can expect to see from Full Swing.

How do I watch the Netflix PGA Tour series?

Without stating the obvious, you need a Netflix account to gain access to Full Swing. The popular platform released a trailer in January to tease the fans and to reveal the release date of February 15.

You can join Netflix from £4.99 per month and this will give you the access you need to binge-watch all eight episodes.

What players are involved in Full Swing?

A number of the PGA Tour’s most successful players of recent seasons feature in the new Netflix series, as well as a number of other personalities and fan favourites.

Each episode tends to be focused on the life of an individual player or players. For example, episode one is largely about the relationship and competitiveness of Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas.

Players such as Ian Poulter, Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka are also involved which adds the perspective of those who moved to LIV Golf.

There is a long list of players who feature in Full Swing, so here are all the names that you can expect to see:

Abraham Ancer, Daniel Berger, Cameron Champ, Joel Dahmen, Tony Finau, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Rickie Fowler, Harry Higgs, Max Homa, Viktor Hovland, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Rory McIlroy, Collin Morikawa, Kevin Na, Mito Pereira, Ian Poulter, Xander Schauffele, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Sahith Theegala, Bubba Watson.

What can you expect from Full Swing?

As previously alluded to, each episode is character-led and the series doesn’t run in chronological order which may appear strange to some viewers.

You can expect to hear from family members of the main protagonists and watch footage that shows the personal lives of some of the players involved.

There will be footage from the locker rooms and the homes of some players. The Netflix docuseries will cover the biggest storylines of the 2022 season with contributions from golf journalists and broadcasters.

For a casual golf fan, Full Swing is informative and lays out the nuts and bolts of professional golf that avid golf fans are already aware of.

NCG’s Alex Perry has seen every episode and you can read his review of the new documentary here. The series will certainly divide opinions and potentially change your views of one or two players.
