After weeks of rumours, Koepka defected to LIV Golf after the US Open in 2022 and was suspended from the PGA Tour. The five-time major winner joined brother Chase in the breakaway series as well as the likes of Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson.
After making the switch, Koepka made his LIV debut in the league’s second event in Portland, where he finished T16. He earned his breakthrough win in the LIV Golf League in Jeddah – an emotional victory after coming through periods of injury and frustration.
After a slow start to the second LIV Golf campaign in 2023, Koepka battled with Jon Rahm at the Masters – eventually coming up four shots short of the Spaniard, but his best was yet to come at Oak Hill in May.
Koepka showed imperious form at the PGA Championship to beat Viktor Hovland in a scintillating battle to win his fifth major title and third Wanamaker trophy. He won in Jeddah again in 2023 and at the Greenbrier in 2024. he has exerpeicned good success since making the career change.
As the captain of Smash GC, he leads a team of Jason Kokrak, Graeme McDowell and Talor Gooch.

It hasn’t been the start to 2025 that Koepka would have wanted, with just a pair of top ten finishes in the first four months of the year. They came in Adelaide and Singapore, with the latter seeing Koepka finish runner-up to Joaquin Niemann.
Considering he was once known as a player that could only get himself up to his best at the majors, Koepka missed the cut at three of the four majors in 2025. The only cut he did make came at the US Open, where he finished in a tie for 12th at Oakmont Country Club.
