It’s time for the PGA Tour’s flagship event – The Players Championship – but what are those all-important TV times to watch the action?
This year’s event at TPC Sawgrass, with a $25 million prize purse up for grabs, will feature some of the world’s best players, with the likes of Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Hideki Matsuyama, Ludvig Aberg, Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood, Viktor Hovland and Jordan Spieth all in action.
They will be trying to take the title away from defending champion Scheffler, who became the first player to successfully defend his title at the Stadium Course. He survived a late scare in 2024 when Wyndham Clark horseshoed a putt on the 72nd hole to force a playoff with his fellow American.
The event is one of the biggest non-major events on the PGA Tour and if it were up to some, the Players Championship would be declared a major itself. It has much prestige and the course has become one of the most recognised in the world in the eyes of golf fans
Some of the best players to ever pick up a club such as McIlroy, Scheffler, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino have all won the Players Championship.

Where is the Players Championship?
The Players Championship is played on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Florida, which is one of the most recognisable venues in the game.
The Players Championship debuted in 1974, but the course hosted the event for the first time in 1982 when Jerry Pate tasted victory.
The par-3 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass is the first feature that comes to mind with its island green. It is an incredibly intimidating hole that goes down as one of golf’s most famous landmarks.
Who won the Players Championship in 2024?
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler was the victor at TPC Sawgrass last time out. He started the final round a staggering five shots behind Xander Schauffele, but a 64 on Sunday saw to it that he won again in Ponte Vedra.
More doubts were cast over Schauffele’s ability to close big events, but he went on to win the PGA Championship and the Open Championship in the same season.
