Players Championship betting tips: Top tips
Bryson DeChambeau (22/1) has been going about his business very well over the last few weeks and he seems to be settling into life as one of the big hitters.
The American has made six starts since the turn of the year and has four top 10s and three top 5s already in the books – his best three finishes have come in his last three starts.
DeChambeau played remarkably consistently throughout the week at Bay Hill considering the testing conditions and couldn’t really be in much of a better place heading to Sawgrass.
His added length off the tee could play a big part in helping propel him up the leaderboard and, while distance isn’t the be all and end all around the Stadium Course, it can be a big advantage on certain holes.
He snuck into the top 20 here last year and I’m expecting an even better showing this time around at a good price.
Matt Kuchar (55/1).
The 41-year-old finished 2nd at the Genesis Invitational and 22nd in Mexico after that and has since taken a break. He was already out on the Sawgrass layout on Sunday getting in some early practice so his preparation will be thorough as always.
He’s had mixed results at the Players but a win in 2012, a top 3 in 2016 and a 26th place last year show that his capability around here hasn’t faded.
At a very backable price for both each-way and outright punters Kuchar should be seriously considered.
