Who will win the 150th Open?

As the world's best roll into the Home of Golf for this milestone occasion, Barry Plummer looks at four players he expects to contend for the Claret Jug

And the winner of the 150th Open Championship is…

Bazza’s Banker: Jordan Spieth @ 22/1 with Bet365

Spieth is trending in the right direction, and that is great news for punters as he approaches a major championship that we know suits his style of play.

As the 2017 Open champion, and last year’s runner-up, the Texan will enter the week with plenty of confidence. That will be further bolstered by a recent win at the RBC Heritage, as well as a strong performance at the Renaissance Club last week.

After three rounds at the Scottish Open, Spieth ranked 8th for SG: Off-the-Tee and 3rd for SG: Tee-to-Green. When you match that up with his other recent performances, where he ranks 5th for SG: Around-the-Green and with his putter warming up, he makes for a very interesting proposition at a generous price.
