The Weather at the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club is usually associated with clear blue skies and radiant sunshine, but this is not always the case.

Masters weather forecast

On April 7, the Monday of tournament week, there was a lot of rain predicted. Accuweather told us there was a 100% chance of rain and it was announced patrons couldn’t come through the gates due to the bad forecast.

The Augusta weather forecast read in degrees Celsius for each day of tournament week: 23 (73F), 20 (68F), 20 (68F), 24 (75F), 20 (68F), 17 (62F) and 22 (71F). So if anything else, conditions will be warm, but what about the sun and the rain situation?

What is the weather at the Masters?

On April 10, round one of the 2025 Masters, it was fine with plenty of sun. There was also a 12 km/h southeasterly wind schedule, and up to 30 km/h gusts.

The other three tournament days look good. Everyone will have their eyes on the Masters weather forecast as the tournament gets nearer and the luckiest patrons who got their tickets plan their days.

Day two had gusts forecasted up to 37 km/h and a general wind of 13 km/h. But, there was no rain.

The wind died down a little in round three, moving day at the Masters. There wasn’t any rain, and as previously stated, there was a solid temperature of 17 degrees Celsius (62F).

The final round will warm and clear too and what will please the players no end is that at the moment, there is very little wind forecast to appear. This could make the golf course vulnerable to low scores, but no doubt the treacherously difficult greens will keep scores at bay, as they do.

All in all, there seems to be no disastrous or dangerous weather on the horizon, and thankfully no repeat of the Masters weather of 2023. Conditions got so bad that trees came down on the golf course but thankfully, no spectators were hurt and the tournament could continue as planned. That was the year Jon Rahm won the Masters for the first time, beating Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka in second place.

In 2024, Scottie Scheffler won the Masters for the second time in the sunshine. He completed a four-shot victory over Ludvig Aberg on the 18th hole, and raised his arms in the settings we’ve become accustomed to seeing at the Masters- bright with blue skies.

What is the weather at the Masters today?

Monday, April 7: Patrons aren’t allowed through the gates at Augusta National due to a bad weather forecast.

Tuesday, April 8: Augusta is warm and dry on day two of tournament week.

Wednesday, April 9: This was a glorious day at the Masters

Thursday, April 10: The players enjoyed sunny and bright conditions in round one.

Friday, April 11: There could be sunny spells with a thundershower in the afternoon, and small hail could accompany it.

Saturday, April 12: It was another glorious day at the Masters

Sunday, April 13: More sun is scheduled to cap off an amazing week

Is the Masters in a weather delay?

As of the start of day two, there has been no Masters weather delay.

Masters temperature and weather in April

The average Masters temperature in April ranges from a high of 24 degrees Celsius to a low of 12 degrees Celsius. (Compare this to Augusta’s hottest month – July – which generally sees temperatures in the mid-30s.)

According to the historical average, there is a 30 per cent chance of rain in Augusta in April on any given day. Thunderstorms aside, downpours are rarely heavy at this time of year.

Augusta is quite a humid area, while wind speed averages out at 13 mph during April. The Masters weather is often associated with bright sun and long shadows for this reason but as we saw in 2023, such a stunning place isn’t completely immune to bad conditions.

Sunrise and sunset

The average day in Augusta during April has 13 hours of daylight.

Sunrise is around 7 am, while the sun sets at roughly 8 pm. In 2024, the first tee time in round one was 10.30 am local time, which is 3.30 pm in the UK and the final tee time was 4.30 pm locally and 9.30 pm in the UK.

As sunset isn’t until about 8 pm and as there aren’t typically as many players in the Masters field as a usual PGA Tour field, there is plenty of time in the day for each player to complete their rounds, as long as the conditions don’t delay play like they occasionally have in the past.
