2024 Masters Thursday tee times: Round 1 groupings

Tuesday of the Masters is always an exciting day.

The best players line up in front of the world’s media to get asked political and diplomatic questions about professional golf, because this is what happens now in 2024, and of course, the Augusta tee times get released.

Gone are the days of contemplating if there will be tension among the PGA Tour stars and the LIV Golf stars. Everyone is equally excited to watch the best players tee it up in the same field for the first time this year, regardless of where they play their golf.

Brooks Koepka will be looking to right the wrongs of last year when he came second to Jon Rahm, who is now one of his LIV Colleagues after completing a ground-breaking move in December.

Rory McIlroy is trying the complete the you-know-what and Tiger Woods is back aiming to win his 16th major and defy all logic to taste victory again at Augusta National, like he did in 2019.

It all makes for a great melting pot and there are many more reasons why the Masters is everyone’s favourite tournament and why this week is so highly anticipated each and every year.

STOP PRESS: Late on Wednesday, the Masters issued the following statement: “Due to forecasted weather on Thursday, we have decided to delay all gate openings in the morning.

“All Masters free parking will be closed until further notice while gate openings are delayed. Further updates will be shared no later than 5am via Masters.com and social channels.”

The latest update from Augusta National came at 10 pm UK time on Thursday which read:

“We continue to monitor the weather closely. Gate openings and tee times have been delayed until further notice. The first round will not begin before 9 am.”

On Thursday afternoon, the Masters released the updated tee times which have been delayed by two and half hours. The first tee time is at 10.30 am local time, so 3.30 pm UK time, and the honorary starters Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson will hit their shots at 10.10 am local time (3.10 pm UK time)
