A former professional golfer who became a Bromley police officer has been putting his skills to good use in tackling anti-social behaviour at Orpington GC.
PC Dan Casey put down his golf clubs professionally in 2012 but has been using his specialist knowledge to assist with regular occurrences of anti-social behaviour at the golf club.
Casey obtained a golf scholarship to the University of Tennessee and in 2011 got through to the final stages of the British Open Qualifier.
Now, as part of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team, he has been working with the course to carry out both highly-visible and plain clothes patrols of the golf course.
The anti-social behaviour includes youths on off-road motorbikes, which have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.
Sergeant Philip Spaul said: “The anti-social behaviour and crime taking place in and around the golf club is impacting on the enjoyment of the public and the business.”
