Bob MacIntyre somehow made par on the 18th hole on Saturday at Royal Troon, despite having to play his second shot right-handed.
It got us thinking… Is the lefty Scottish star’s right-handed swing better than ours? Or yours? It probably is right…?
After battling to make the cut on Friday at The Open thanks to a stunning back nine, MacIntyre went out early on Saturday in some of the best conditions of the day.
He was one-over for the round coming down the last and six-over in total. His tee shot on the 18th did not find any trouble, but it put the man from Oban in a predicament.
He decided he couldn’t play it left-handed with his feet in the bunker. He opted to flip his club round, and he lashed a full swing right-handed.
Although the result might not have been exactly what he was aiming for, his swing was still nice to look at!

Amazingly, following a drop from the grandstand, the Scot would get up and down for par to finish with a third round of 72.

This Robert MacIntyre swing right-handed was so impressive…
Following his round, MacIntyre made comments about the shot, saying it was the first time he had ever hit a full-blooded shot right-handed.
“I got a good bit of luck. Missed the bunker and then you get up there and you’ve got no shot,” he explained.
“I couldn’t even stand in the bunker and hit it. I just thought, why not hit it right-handed? As long as it was up the right, it was fine.
“The only place I couldn’t go was left, so I kind of aimed at the right TV tower and just put a swing on it. As long as I hit the club face it was going to be all right.

“I would have done one probably recently, but full swipe at it, I’ve not done one, I don’t think, in my life.”
Later on in the evening, the Scot posted a video of himself hitting a right-handed hickory club at the Genesis Scottish Open last week.

“What’s all the fuss about?”, he said, taking the mick out of himself in true Bob fashion.
That’s what the post on X said from Oban’s finest. Once again, all we can say is how annoyingly nice that right-handed swing is!
