Frank Bensel Jr. accomplished something that you can’t put a price on during the second round of the US Senior Open…

two holes in one in a row

A remarkable thing happened in the second round of the US Senior Open where one player made back-to-back holes-in-one.

Frank Bensel Jr. aced the par-3 4th hole on Friday at Newport Country Club, the venue that hosted the first-ever US Open in 1895.

After making his tee shot on this 184-yard hole, Bensel Jr. incredibly did it again on the par-3 5th hole which is even longer at 203 yards.

ALSO: I ‘lost’ my ball but found it in the hole – is it a hole in one?

Footage from the USGA showed Bensel Jr. taking his ball from the hole and lifting it to celebrate. The whistling wind makes the achievement all the more remarkable and unlikely.

The man who has played just two PGA Tour Champions events in his life and a handful of PGA Tour events recorded something previously quoted as a 67 million to one

Bensel Jr.’s scorecard was doused with irony after the 5th hole as he made four consecutive bogeys thereafter. Despite making two holes-in-one on the front nine, he played the first half of his second round in one-over-par.

Having shot five-over in the first round, Bensel Jr., the longtime head professional at Century Country Club, will need to go low to make the cut and play at the weekend.
