It’s one of the most highly anticipated and controversial events on the PGA Tour. Here is our WM Phoenix Open preview

The WM Phoenix Open is oe of the most highly-anticipated PGA Tour events on the schedule for the action inside and outside of the ropes.

Some of the best players in the world have won this event at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona in recent years, such as Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka and Hideki Matsuyama.

The event has been made famous for featuring the Stadium hole, the par-3 16th that includes a large stand that surrounds the hole. The fans celebrate when you hit the green and make a birdie, and most probably boo at anything else.

This event always attracts a good field and the 2025 edition is no different. Scheffler, Matsuyama, Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Thomas, Akshay Bhatia, Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Robert MacIntyre, Jordan Spieth and Sahith Theegala are back for more in Arizona.

Let’s take a look at the event, explain the details and inform you of when and how to watch the 2025 WM Phoenix Open.

WM Phoenix Open 2025 details

Venue: TPC Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Date: February 6-9, 2025

Course stats: Par 71; 7,261 yards

Course summary: This desert track is relatively short with undulating Bermuda fairways and large, fast Bermuda greens. Deep bunkering and water hazards are the main defence for this course where consistent ball strikers appear to prosper. The course sits at altitude, so players will have to factor this in when calculating their shots. An exciting closing stretch features a reachable par-5, and a driveable par-4, with danger from water hazards lurking throughout.

Purse: $9.2 million

Defending champion: Nick Taylor (-21, playoff)
