The Tour Championship is the final event of the season and ends the FedEx Cup Playoffs. This is the finale to the 2025 schedule and will essentially crown the best player of the year.
So here is how the prize money works for the Tour Championship in 2025. In May, the PGA Tour announced that starting strokes would be removed from the Tour Championship format. Instead of a staggered scoring start, all 30 players will start on even par, and it is a 72-hole stroke play event.
The FedEx Cup Bonus Distribution is the same as 2024: $100 million. The winner of the FedEx Cup will get $10 million, which is the largest winner’s share of a tour event this season. The total prize purse for the Tour Championship is $40 million.
Below are images of how it works. As you can see, if a player held top spot at each Playoff event, they would earn $25 million, which is the same as what Scottie Scheffler won for taking the Tour Championship and FedEx Cup titles in 2024.

Signature Events
The Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Memorial and the Genesis Invitational were the player-hosted Signature Events that have 36-hole cuts and give away 20% of the purse to the tournament winner.
