The Hero World Challenge marks the start of a fun part of the PGA Tour calendar.
Following the 20-man event in the Bahamas, we will be treated to the Grant Thornton Invitational and the PNC Championship.
A mixed event and a family-based event seems a warm way to see out 2023 – and of course, there is the return of Tiger Woods.
The 15-time major champion hosts the Hero World Challenge in Albany and is set to make his first appearance since the Masters in April.
Will Zalatoris is in the field – a player who’s been absent since March with a back injury.
Viktor Hovland has won the last two renewals of this limited-field event, banking $2 million in the process.
Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Max Homa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Jordan Spieth, Cameron Young and Collin Morikawa are all in the field this week.
Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Xander Schauffele are among the notable names not participating.
It is also a golf tournament that offers OWGR points as well as a handsome pot of prize money.
