Will the weather be kind to the mixture of PGA Tour and LIV Golf players, as well as the spectators, for the PGA Championship?

The weather forecast can have a huge effect on a major championship, or any golf tournament. Some golfers thrive when they are roughing it in the wind and the rain, but there are some that would much rather the sun shine and play without waterproofs on.

Let’s take a look at the weather for the PGA Championship in 2025…

PGA Championship 2025 weather forecast

In the days before the event started, there was some horrific weather. Many members of the media in Charlotte shared updates and clips of the pouring rain.

Quail Hollow closed to spectators on Monday due to heavy rain turned into thunderstorms with strong winds. There were also more suspensions in play on Tuesday at around midday local time due to bad weather. Spectators were encouraged to seek shelter.

The 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow should avoid bad weather, according to the forecast on Accuweather. In fact, it looks like the players could enjoy hot and dry conditions, which could mean a very low score wins the event, depending on how tough the course sets up. The course could well play soft due to the heavy rain on the days preceding the event.

On Thursday, the day of the first round, temperatures could get as high as 29 degrees Celsius, which translates to 84 degrees in Fahrenheit. The feel of the heat could be as high as 32 degrees though, and there is a predicted 25% chance of precipitation.

The wind on the first day should only reach 9 km/h, which shouldn’t worry these top players. The wind is predicted to swirl at a similar level in the second round on Friday. And it will also be warm.

Accuweather describes the weather for day two of the tournament as ‘Cloud, warm and muggy’. The temperature should reach 30 degrees with a feel of 35 degrees. This is very hot and like the first day, there is only a 25% chance of rain.

The forecast for the third round says there is a 40% chance of rain falling in this part of North Carolina. Broken intervals with a thunderstorm in a couple of spots are also predicted, so there could be a weather delay on day three, which no player or spectator wants.

The forecast for the final round resembles that of the first two days. The rain shouldn’t arrive, and it could get as hot as 27 degrees. There is a little more wind though, reaching 13 km/h from the west. But again, his shouldn’t trouble the leaders.
