It’s time for the final Major championship of 2015 and we’re back at Whistling Straits for what promises to be a exciting week.
The return of Rory McIlroy is the early headline but the bookmakers are obviously slightly dubious about his fitness otherwise you think he’d be the favourite.
He’s only been out of action for just over a month, is the defending champion and finished in a tie for third last year.
Most bookies are offering 10/1 or 12/1 with Jordan Spieth as the favourite at around 6/1.
But if you’re looking for a decent each way bet then steer clear of the favourites as there is loads of value to be found further down the list.
I’ll start with Zach Johnson who like McIlroy finished in a tie for third at Whistling in 2010 and is aiming to repeat McIlroy’s 2014 feat of winning the final two Majors of the year.
You can back Zach at 55/1.
Paul Casey has had a very solid year on the PGA Tour and despite not managing in a win, he has come close on a few occasions.
If the wind picks up, he has the ball flight to cope and finished in a respectable tie for 12th in 2010.
A final round 67 resulted in a respectable T17 finish at the WGC-Bridgestone so he’s in form.
Take an each-way punt on Casey at 70/1.
Someone who isn’t exactly in form but should come into your thinking is Martin Kaymer.
The German is a double-major champion, with one coming at Whistling Straits in 2010, and has a habit of doing very well at particular venues.
For example, he’s won in Abu Dhabi three times.
Have a dabble on Kaymer at 55/1.
Looking at 2010, you don’t have to scroll too far down the final leaderboard to find Marc Leishman.
The Aussie can very close to his first Major at St Andrews last month and has a habit of producing good performances at the top events.
In the last three years he has had three top five places in Majors and two top 10s in WGCs so is a man for the big occasion.
Get some serious value on Leishman at 125/1.

The usual suspects top the betting with the bookmakers with Jason Day 14/1, Dustin Johnson 16/1, Bubba Watson 16/1, Justin Rose 18/1, Rickie Fowler 22/1, Henrik Stenson 25/1 and Adam Scott at 25/1.
