2024 PGA Championship Thursday tee times: Round 1 groupings

When are golf’s elite and the fan favourites teeing it up this week? Here are all the tee times for round one of the PGA Championship at Valhalla…

The tee times for the first two rounds of the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club have been released.

As always, the tee times for the opening two rounds of any major championship are announced at the same time. You can also check out the tee times for Friday’s second round. You can follow this link right here.

After his incredible heroics last year at Oak Hill, Michael Block will have the honour of hitting the first tee shot on Thursday morning. He will tee off at 12:25pm BST, alongside Luke Donald and Shaun Micheel.

Defending PGA Champion Brooks Koepka will play alongside Max Homa and Jordan Spieth – who will complete the Grand Slam with a win at Valhalla. They will tee off at 1:47pm BST on the opening day.

15-time major champion Tiger Woods will play alongside Adam Scott and Keegan Bradley for the first two days. They are in the early wave on Thursday morning, teeing off at 1:14pm BST.

Elsewhere in the morning session, Ludvig Aberg, Xander Schauffele and Justin Thomas will be paired up. They will tee off at 1:03pm BST, immediately in front of the Woods/Scott/Bradley trio.

Right behind them will be four-time major champion Rory McIlroy, two-time major winner Dustin Johnson and 2013 US Open champion Justin Rose. They get going at 1:25pm BST.

Reigning major champions Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman are paired together for the first two days. They will be one of the marquee groups in the second wave on Thursday, teeing off at 7:13pm BST.

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
