How can I get hold of the new Tiger Woods clothing?

Tiger Woods has entered a new realm of his career with the TaylorMade Sun Day Red clothing brand, but when will it be hanging in our local shop windows?

There’s no doubt that hundreds of golf fans will already be lining up some Sun Day Red clothing for Christmas.

Tiger Woods and TaylorMade promised much when they launched the brand-new clothing and footwear line in the week of the Genesis Invitational.

After building a famous partnership with Nike over 27 years, Woods announced his split with the sports clothing giant at the end of 2023.

He plays with TaylorMade clubs and now, he’s kitted out in TaylorMade gear.

“This is a transition in my life. I’ve moved on to Sun Day Red and we’re looking forward to building a brand that elicits excitement and is transformative,” he said at Riviera Country Club on Wednesday.

The Sun Day Red website is now up and running too. The launch is complete, but how do we get our hands on these new garments, and when can we grab our baskets and start loading?

When can I buy the new Tiger Woods clothing line?

The official launch of the clothing sales is pencilled on May 1, 2024.

“This isn’t just the release of a new apparel line; it’s the start of a new chapter in the Tiger Woods saga,” read the words on the Sun Day Red website.

“With plans to expand the brand to include women’s and children’s styles as well as footwear, the future of Sun Day Red shines bright.”

What items feature in the new Sun Day Red brand?

As per the pictures from the launch in Los Angeles on February 12, there are several different polo shirts as part of the Sun Day Red clothing line.

As well as polo shirts, there are shorts and trousers in several different colours from red, white and black.

“Each piece incorporates his specific requests, from enhanced shoulder seaming that promotes full motion, unrestricted swings, to 2-way zippers and pocket seaming that eliminate bulking, plus collars and cuffs precisely designed and measured for optimum performance,” the website says.

There are also midlayers, hoodies, and standard top layers that will be available on the sales launch date.

Woods donned some of his new clothing in the practice rounds of the 2024 Genesis Invitational for the first time, including a pair of black Sun Day Red golf shoes.

On some of the new clothes, the new Tiger-shaped symbol of Sun Day Red features in the middle of the chest, as opposed to on the breast.

The brand also has intentions to expand into women’s and children’s clothing in the future.

Why is this clothing line called Sun Day Red?

As has been made abundantly clear throughout his career, Woods likes wearing red tops during the final round of his tournaments.

Countless photographs have been taken of the 15-time major champion wearing red as he sealed another major title or a prestigious PGA Tour trophy.

The inspiration comes from this mother who called red his “power colour.” His career has certainly proved this to be the case.

But why has Sunday red become “Sun Day Red”? The website explains this:

“Also causing a stir is a three-word name. The wordmark appears as three words for a simple reason: there is a special power in 3’s.

“Calling it Sun Day Red was a fun way for us to create something completely different and unexpected.

“Born from a love for being outside in the sun, the joy of playing golf during the day, and a special red being the brand’s power colour – as soon as Sun Day Red was placed on a garment for the first time, it just looked perfect.”
