The Ryder Cup is going back to Spain in 2031.

The matches between Europe and the USA will be held at Camiral in Costa Brava near Barcelona, 34 years after the event went to Valderrama.

Reports had strongly linked Camiral with staging the event – what used to be called PGA Catalunya.

The Hulton Park project in Bolton in the North of England had given up hope of hosting the Ryder Cup in 2031 with new attention on 2035, while the team at Luton Hoo in the south had hoped it could be their turn in six years.

“When the opportunity came at Luton Hoo two years ago, I just fell in love with the place and thought, this is something,” Surinder Arora told NCG, the owner of Luton Hoo and the Arora Group.

“We can bring the Ryder Cup here and put Bedfordshire on the world map and create something really special as a legacy, so that’s the dream at Luton Hoo. You’ve got an amazing character and history. The main mansion is Grade I Listed, and the Capability Brown ground.”

The first Ryder Cup was held in 1927 at Worcester Country Club in Massachusetts, and the first one held in Great Britain was at Moortown Golf Club in Leeds.

The tournament alternates from the United States to Europe to give Team USA and Team Europe a home advantage every other year.

A variety of golf courses have held the Ryder Cup and the captain of the home side is given the chance to shape the course conditions to their strengths.

America wanted to build on their crushing win over Europe at Whistling Straits in 2021 with a side rich in quality and full of PGA Tour stars, but Luke Donald’s blue and gold side won the trophy back in Italy.

Luke Donald will hope to maintain his unbeaten record at the event in 2025. We’ve looked at which venues will host the Ryder Cup in the coming years as we now have the revelation of the Ryder Cup 2031 venue.

Ryder Cup 2031: Future Ryder Cup venues

2025

Bethpage State Park (Black Course), Farmingdale, New York

Bethpage has hosted three major championships and two PGA Tour events. Established in 1936 and designed by Joseph Burbeck and A.W Tillinghast, Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championship at this venue in 2019 which was the last time it held a major.

This course is known to provide a stiff test and in Ryder Cup terms, it will attract raucous US fans from the surrounding areas. Bradley and Team USA will look to take the cup back by using what will be a passionate home contingent.

2027

Adare Manor, Limerick, Republic of Ireland

In South Ireland, you’ll find Adare Manor 10 miles from Limerick. The venue dates back to the 19th century but the golf course only goes back three decades. It was designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr and was redesigned by Tom Fazio.

The course hosted the Irish Open in both 2007 and 2008. Fazio then redesigned the course, which was reopened in 2018. It has been created using the natural beauty of its surroundings and the sweeping banks of the River Maigue.

Hazeltine National Golf Club, Chaska, Minnesota

Robert Trent Jones Sr also masterminded Hazeltine National which hosted America’s win against Europe at the 2016 Ryder Cup. It was opened in 1962 and hosted the PGA Championship in 2002 and 2009, and also the Women’s PGA Championship in 2019.

2031

Camiral

Once a venue on the DP World Tour and for DP World Tour Q-School, Camiral has been named as a Ryder Cup host venue. Europe will look to keep the Ryder Cup on home soil, in the country where Seve Ballesteros and many of the continent’s best players hail from.
