It’s the final week of the PGA Tour season, and there are big names that could miss the FedEx Cup Playoffs…
Justin Thomas, Shane Lowry, Adam Scott – just some of the names that could miss the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
This week sees the last tournament of the regular season on the PGA Tour, the Wyndham Championship, and there are plenty of big guns sitting outside the top 70 in the standings.
Five hundred points are on offer for the winner this week, meaning players all the way down to 191st are mathematically still in with a shot of making the playoffs.

Who could miss out on making the FedEx Cup Playoffs?
Only the top 70 players following this week’s event at Sedgefield Country Club will make it into the FedEx St Jude Championship.
That’s the first of three events in the FedEx Cup Playoffs schedule, followed by the BMW Championship, and the Tour Championship at East Lake in late August.
Austin Eckroat is currently the man in 70th place in the FedEx Cup standings. He has 594 points this season, just two more than Ben Taylor, who is outside the top 70.
Two-time PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas is arguably the biggest name that could miss out.
Thomas has had his struggles this season, culminating in the American shooting 82 in the first round of The Open at Royal Liverpool.
He is 79th in the FedEx Cup standings, but remains within 50 points of the top 70.
Irishman Shane Lowry, the 2019 Open Champion, is three places above Thomas in the standings. Matt Wallace, Adam Scott, Joel Dahmen and Danny Willett are also within 100 points of the top 70.
