There aren’t many better things than watching a major championship in golf, especially the Amundi Evian Championship.

The Amundi Evian Championship has provided some extremely exciting finishes since it became a major for the first time in 2013, as opposed to just a co-sanctioned event between the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour.

Suzann Pettersen won the event in the first year of its major status, beating Lydia Ko by two shots. Kim Hyo Joo then won the following year by one stroke from the legendary Karrie Webb, and Lydia Ko got some redemption in 2015 by winning the event by six shots.

No player has one this event more than once while it has been a major. In the history of its existence since 1994, Swede Helen Alfredsson won it three times, and both Dame Laura Davies and Annika Sorenstam won twice, as did Ai Miyazato.

In 2024, Ayaka Furue beat Stephanie Kyriacou by one shot at Evian Resort in France to win her first major title and the $1,200,000 winner’s prize. There was a total purse of $8 million.

In the third round today, leaders Somi Lee, Grace Kim and Jennifer Kupcho get going in France at 10.42 am UK time on hole 1.
