2024 Chevron Championship Thursday tee times: Round 1 groupings
When are your favourites getting underway on the opening day in The Woodlands?
The first women’s major of the year is here! Take a look at the tee times and groupings for Round 1 of the Chevron Championship.
As always, the Chevron is the first women’s major of the season, and like it was in 2023, the event will be played on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas.
There was set to be a blockbuster trio of defending champion Lilia Vu, World No 1 Nelly Korda and Australia’s Minjee Lee for the opening two days. However, last year’s Chevron victor has withdrawn from the tournament through injury. Jennifer Song has replaced Vu in the field, and the new group will tee off at 7:10pm BST.
The two groups before them are also filled with talent. Rose Zhang, Hyo Joo Kim and Nasa Hataoka go out at 6:48pm BST, with a trio of major winners – Celine Boutier, Allisen Corpuz and Ruoning Yin – out at 6:59pm BST. All three groups will start on the back nine.
The standout group in the morning session features American Lexi Thompson, Canada’s Brooke Henderson and New Zealander Lydia Ko. The trio tee off from the 10th at 2:21pm BST.
Following her success at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur a couple of weeks ago, Englishwoman Lottie Woad gets her first taste of women’s major action. She goes off at 7:32pm from the 10th, alongside Madelene Sagstrom and Gabriela Ruffels.
Play gets underway on the opening day in Texas at 7:15am ET / 1:15pm BST, with a two-tee start.

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.
He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.
Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…
Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
