Round three at any tournament is a huge day. It is even bigger at a major championship, where the very best players are involved.

The third day of an event is known as ‘moving day’, as the players jostle for position on the leaderboard. There will be some players that play badly and lose their chance of winning, then there will be some players that climb the leaderboard at a crucial stage of the event.

Brooke Henderson absolutely propelled herself up the leaderboard in 2024, shooting a 64 to put herself in the thick of contention. Henderson’s round was markedly better than every other scorecard on the day, but ultimately, the Canadian two-time major champion didn’t win.

Haeren Ryu and Esther Henseleit both shot 67s in the third round last year as well, which gave them a good chance of contending for the first piece of major silverware of the year.

It was Nelly Korda who eventually won the tournament – her second career major – and she carded a 69, which obviously did her chances no harm. She shot another 69 on Sunday to take the title by two shots from Maja Stark.

In 2025, there are three balls in the third round playing from holes 1 and 10. The final tee time is from hole 1 at 11.15 am local time, featuring Yan Liu, Lindy Duncan and Mao Saigo.
