Jon Rahm has experienced so much success in recent years on the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf League that it is difficult to keep track.

He has won countless tournaments, not to mention two major championships and he is a regular feature at the top of any leaderboard he finds himself on.

And often by his side when he lifts the trophy is his wife Kelley and the couple’s children. It has been a hell of a journey for the pair with the Spaniard’s rise to superstardom.

So who is Kelley and how did the pair meet? Let’s take a deep dive into their relationship…

It seems their relationship dates back to as early as 2016 and Rahm told once Golf Digest that they met at a Halloween party.

“We used to go to this place called Zendejas because she loved their margaritas and we both loved food, and it wasn’t expensive. But we have some disagreement about this – we don’t know if that was our first official date, or if it was at a football game,” he explained.

Both Rahm and Kelley attended Arizona State University which is where they met. Kelly used to compete in track and field as a javelin thrower and she was also a good tennis player.

It is no surprise that part of their bond comes from competitiveness in the field of sport.

“He’s killing forehands – crosscourt zingers, and I’m thinking, ‘This can’t be right’. He was so good. I was so upset. I was actually mad for a day or two – We have not set foot on a tennis court since,” Kelley once said of a tennis match they had together.

The pair lived together for two years before getting married in Bilbao, Spain in December 2019, not far from where Rahm grew up in Barrika. They first got engaged in June 2018.

They had their first child Kepa in March 2021, very shortly before Rahm was set to play in the Masters. There was even an outside chance that Rahm wasn’t going to play because of the timing.

Their second son Eneko was born in August 2022 and now, the duo were then expecting a third child. Their daughter Alaia was born in October 2024, around the time that Rahm was being tasked with fulfilling his DP World Tour event quota to be eligible for the 2025 European Ryder Cup team.

Towards the end of the 2024 schedule, Rahm played in the Spanish Open, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the Andalucia Masters which was enough for him to maintain his membership in Europe.

Kelley has always been by Rahm’s side when he has lifted his trophies, including when he won the US Open in 2021 and when he won the Masters in 2023.
